Kouign amann... homemade puff pastry (made with salted Breton butter...well we spent the weekend in Alsace, so thought I'd get the real McCoy). A bijou splodge of caramel cream with sea-salt, because why not? For a 1st attempt, calling it a winner. Yes, the rest have disappeared from the plate!
Thanks to @jayrayner1 for the idea...they get a mention as a post script to his evisceration of Le Cinq, and I had to give them a go, and paul.hollywood for the recipe, which I might have fiddled with, just a little bit. 😉 by @funkymushroom_2014

Take 4 bulbs of garlic. Separate into cloves, peel and pop into a small oven proof bowl. Add 1 bay leaf, 6 sprigs of thyme and enough olive oil to just cover everything. 45 (up to 60) minutes at 160°C in the air fryer (or oven, but why?), until the garlic is very soft but still recognisably cloves of garlic, not mush, and just turning brown. Straight into a warm, sterilised jar. Voilà! Confit garlic. Will keep in the fridge for at least 6 months (but it'll never last that long!). Just make sure everything is always under oil, so top up if needed. Squish onto bread or into sauces or just eat from the jar. Dribble the oil on everything. Enjoy! by @funkymushroom_2014

Not generally given to posting photos of dinner, but this was lush! The skin on the pork belly was as crispy as it looks, a gnarly baked potato with sour cream & herbs, and asparagus with more butter than strictly necessary. Well! That's what Sundays are for .... by @funkymushroom_2014

George the 'toise has also been out enjoying today's glorious weather, getting lashed into some juicy watermelon 🍉 and confusing the Bejaysus out of a neighbour's cat, who has clearly never seen a 'toise before, and looked on in bewilderment...from a safe distance 😂 by @funkymushroom_2014
