Happy 6th birthday Shore — there is only so much of this album i can put into words. This album changed and rebuilt parts of myself in small ways that leave me forever changed.

I coincidentally wrote a poem yesterday about the ocean, and i saw it only fitting to make something of it in honor of one of my favorite albums and the equinox — so here it is.

The Ocean, relatively misunderstood

i often think about the sea

the way the water gently covers the shore

in waves caressing

coaxing

a promise of rain,

of a tomorrow,

what ever that may be

i never understood the love of the ocean

not really

sometimes i still dont

but as i have grown

and the ocean has stayed the same

i am beginning to.

oh how vast the aching sea

my own heart beating not much differently

how steadfast its mournful dreams

sent in letters always finding me

im much to foolish, much to vain

to see her dark, lulling, surface

as anything but bitter pain

she is far to gentle, much more deserved by me

someone who ignores —or tries— to see nothing but rain

im much too silly, and spend far too little time happy

the ocean does not solely mourn

she exudes a soft, fleeting kindness —sometimes sorrow— softening the torrential winds of tomorrow.

Calcifer !!
This was a trad piece i made a while back
It’s a little outdated as far as design goes but i still like it :-)
It looks a little weird around the borders because i expanded it by hand in procreate and didn’t bother getting super detailed with it haha

Forever we choke on the memory of you

Acrylic on Canvas

4.17.25

Go sail, charmer, altruist
Who immersed in thickets
Hugged in cloth
Evolves into charcoal
Worshipped by the drifting macaw
The lady finch
The lady finch
They swoop and croon through the air
Dip their feathers
In the death paste of ash water

All things end.

All that we intend
Is built in sand
And slips right
Through our hands”

Metamorphosis.

“He looked up
To watch them form
A ghostly chevron
With flashes of white
From their exposed chest
Blinking like so many eyes”

They who love too fondly.

“Thus we exist.
Born merely to die,
Yet we yearn.
We cry for something,
Something greater than
We as human
Are able to bring forth;
From life until death.”
