This is my entry for @jayashreepaints Jayashree’s #artpromptparade March 2025 “lighthouses of the world”. Thanks for hosting! ✨Drawing this Highland Light Station brings back fond memories of my last visit to the beautiful Cape Cod many and many a year ago. 💖 Though subtle, I am surprisingly happy with how the sky turned out. Drawing horizontal lines is therapeutic. 😊 And I’m over with the shrubs/grass woes now. 😅Have a great weekend, peeps! 🫶Photo ref: My own photo ===================This brick tower (1857) is a replacement of the tower (1831) that replaced the original wooden tower (1797). Third time’s a charm? 🙃 It stands 66 ft tall and is a keeper’s house and generator shed on a cliff. Due to erosion, it was moved 450 ft back to a safer ground in the 90s. It was then relit and remained active today. 8 x 5 in. #Moleskine sketchbook#highlandlighthouse #capecodlight #capecod #capecodnationalseashore #northtruro #lighthouse #lighthousedrawing#micronfineliners #finelinerart #penandinkdrawing #pendrawing #linework #lineworkart #penillustration #inkillustration #landscapedrawing by @funsizeart

"Dulce et decorum est pro patria mori." ("It is sweet and fitting to die for one's country.") ~ Horace, Odes (III, 2, 13)This is the west side of the Memorial Amphitheater, Arlington National Cemetery. The east side features the viewing terrace and the Tomb of the Unknown Solder which is guarded 24/7. (It was really cool to watch the guards march!) The amphitheater features neoclassical architecture of Ancient Greece and Rome in white marble collonaded structures, a typical American government building in the early federal period. My little sketch does not do justice to its beauty. Memorial Day service is held here annually to honor military personnels who died while in service. I’m thankful to those who sacrificed their lives for we can enjoy our freedom and peace. 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸*Swipe to see some pics that I took.*Architech: Thomas Hastings, Est: May 15, 1920, accommodates 4000 people (a replacement of the first amphitheater est. in 1864)The amphitheater consists primarily of Vermont-quarried Danby marble. Where is my mind…While I was sitting in the jury assembly room doodling on my iPad, I had the idea of combining @jayashreepaints Andes mountains and @jeffncompany house into a detailed drawing that you can keep zooming in to see more details. What was I thinking?? I had opened a can of worms that I didn't know how to close it! ⚠️Please don’t zoom in. It’s messy.🙈I’m grateful to those who responded to the WIP posts in my Story, motivated me to finish it, and told me to STOP undoing the layers! 🫣 It’s embarrassing to mention how many versions of rocks, grass, mountains, etc. I had attempted--thanks to the convenient 3-finger scrub gesture that erases the layer clean like magic. Evidently, the 'pinch to zoom' and 'undo' tools were fully utilized and the number of allowed layers for this canvas was also maxed out. At some point, I stopped looking at the reference photos and just went with the flow. In the end, I'm proud to have put an end to this madness and picked up something new along the way. i.e. ALWAYS check which layer you are on before making any mark on the canvas!! 😅*swipe to see ref pics*I hope Jeff doesn't mind me moving his Fight Club looking house to the Andes. Jayashreen's hiker is not seen here because she's already in the house fight---, I mean feasting. Thank you Jayashree and Jeff for this uber-challenging dtiy!!!!#drawjaysandes #drawjeffshouse🏔🏔🏔🏔🏔🏔The song "Where is My Mind" by Pixies (from the ending scene of Fight Club) was playing in my head. I love Maxence Cyrin's piano version so I decided to play it as my own soundtrack for the time-lapse video: a 6-month on-and-off work condensed into 30 seconds. Maybe I’ll post my full-length amateur piano playing under Reel…😜Have a lovely weekend, peeps!! 5000x4000 px, 300dpi🏔🏔🏔🏔🏔🏔#whereismymind #landscapelovers #tinydetails #santacruztrek #andesmountains #wonkyhouse #oldhouse by @funsizeart

A small-ish dragonfly --------------------------------------------------I think dragonflies are pretty awesome. They have been around for over 300 million years (pre-dinosaurs) as the first flying insects with a wingspan of 65-70 cm. There are so many interesting facts about dragonflies such as their 95% hunting success rate and extreme agility that can turn in flight at 9G (regular folks would have passed out at 4G 🤢😵). To top it off, their eyes consist of 30,000 lenses, that's like watching 30,000 monitors at the same time in slow mo. One can doomscroll without missing a single meme, reel, and post generated by humans and ai alike on social media. 🫳🎤There are more interesting (and weird) facts about these bugs. If you're curious, look them up. 😉Why isn't there a dragonfly emoji on Android and iOS?? And why is the caption so long for a teeny tiny drawing? And hello, I just discovered the "single" and "multiple" caption options on IG. 🙀 #dragonflydrawing #finelinersketch #dragonfly #pendrawingScanned versionMaking a greeting card by @funsizeart

I don't remember which idea came first, but it's partly inspired by one of the best hikes I did many years ago and the Misty Mountain from LOTR. Of course I was holding on to that rope for my dear life! (next slide) 😨😅 Just a casual sketch for when you're wired after midnight. 🫩 Some day... I will do proper drawings of my hikes. Hopefully. 🤞Happy Monday! 🌼#mountaindrawing #pendrawing #finelinersketch by @funsizeart

Nature always finds its way. ** The video from my previous post (on main grid) was muted for some reason... Thought I'd post it separately as a "reel" instead of together with static images as a "post" and see if it works. It did. 😀#tennessee #ozonefalls by @funsizeart

Hello everyone! 🤗 Happy 2026! 🎉🥂I'm hopping on the #artvsartist2025 bandwagon. It was a roller coaster year for me. I didn't draw a lot nor was I very available on social media but would like to share some highlights nonetheless. I am very grateful for all your encouragement and support of my drawings throughout the years. I cherish your friendship, all your comments and dms from pure silliness to thought-provoking serious topics. Thanks for being awesome! 🫶This year is going to be a big one for me and I foresee lots of planning, traveling, tears and joy, and changes in the future months. Before I fall off the face of the Earth (aka IG 😆), I'd like to finish building my miniature model that I received from Christmas. I am thinking of sharing my building process here, well, just because the fun size pieces are too cute to not share. 😆🤩 (Swipe for preview.) I know, it will be different from my usual posts but don't sweat, I won't hold you accountable for unfollowing me, or dismissing my posts. 😌Until then, stay awesome. The world needs it. 💖☮️✌️🕊️🙏🏵️#artvsartistchallenge #penandinkdrawing #penandinkillustration #architecturaldrawing by @funsizeart

The last prompt from Camilo’s #architober2025 was “Your Country”. I decided to draw the Maryland State House (focusing on the cupola), which is one of my favorite buildings in my home state. It’s not highly ornate nor heavily gilded with gold, yet, this modest architecture does not lack its grandeur and elegance. It was built to serve its purpose—for the people, and not for the monarchs, kings, and queens anymore. It served as the country’s capitol briefly before Washington D.C. was established. It was where George Washington resigned as the commander-in-chief. His action marked the new era of civilian over military controlled government, and set the precedent of 2-term presidency limit. Imagine the founding fathers and all the historic figures walking through those halls and stairs. If only walls could talk…While it is important to upgrade old buildings to meet modern day needs, imo it’s also important to preserve historic buildings from the facade to the materials, structure, and historic character. Not demolishing them. The state house has certainly gone through phases of restoration due to water damage and the needs for space. New sections were added and/or replaced, but the original essence remains as a tangible link for us to go back in time. The State House—🔸Construction began 1772-1788🔸Progress was interrupted due to Revolutionary War and hurricaneThe new dome/cupola—🔸1785-1797🔸121 ft from base to weather vane🔸Wood harvested from the eastern shore 🔸Replaced the old leaky roof/dome🔸It was raised and reconstructed with wooden pegs (no metal nails) reinforced by iron straps. The acorn atop the dome— 🔸originally installed in 1788🔸cypress harvested on the eastern shore 🔸symbolizes sound and wisdom🔸to stabilize the Franklin’s lightning rod which is still working today (a political statement and a story of its own)🔸Due to water damage, the acorn was replaced with a new construction in 1996. It is now clad in copper, gilded, and painted based on the original drawings. The original acorn’s resting place is at the Annapolis Museum.Maxing out the allowed characters here. Thanks for reading my sentiment!☺️ #iykyk by @funsizeart

Here it is! I finished the last square on Oct 31 🙌 but didn't come around to assembling the puzzle and posting until now. Honestly, assembling felt more frustrating. 😆Thank you, Ioana @ioanapioaru for creating the #mysteryinktober challenge! It's been fun and rewarding! I appreciate your daily emails and motivation. ☺️💕 ⚠️Long post, skip to the last part⚠️A few takeaways: ✍️ I learned to use Discord (where Iona set up the daily progress channel). 😱 Now I can join my son's gaming server. Jk. ✍️ It is not perfect. I rushed through most of the pieces, messy lines, quite a few pieces are way off such as (1, 4) and (5,5)... 🙈 I realized the cutouts aren't perfect either. Oops.✍️ I knew it's not going to match up neatly, and this is just an opportunity to practice line work. It took the pressure off. Cross hatching was therapeutic.✍️ I no longer fear line-drawing with a WHOLE LOT of "darkness." ✍️ This is me 🥴😩😵‍💫😓 every time Ioana posted a reference square with petals. I love seeing other people's floral drawings and admire their delicate lines. Most of the time, I am clueless on how to shade them using pens. ✍️ The easy part of this challenge was the fun size (4x4 cm2) prompts that made it less daunting. A little a day goes a long way. Just like marathon training. ✍️ The difficult part was the discontinuity of the images that drove me a bit nuts. It was hard to be consistent with the hatching and shading.✍️ After glueing all the pieces together, I went back to do some touch ups. 😜 Swipe for the "before" version. It's subtle.✍️ This is my first time completing ALL the prompts in any form of inktober challenges. I wanted to give up numerous times but glad I stuck with it. Otherwise, I wouldn't have known I have the patience to create something like this in A4 size!! So I'm giving myself a big hand.🖐️🍨 ✍️ Congratulations to those who participated in any -tober challenges no matter how many prompts you completed, or started and not completed. 🤜I have a full schedule from now on into the holiday season but I will slowly catch up with your entries. Keep it up, peeps! 💖#micronfineliners #finelinerart #penandinkdrawing #li by @funsizeart

When I was scanning through the #architober2025 list for the first time, I immediately knew I wanted to give the Temple of Bacchus (Lebanon) a go, even if it's a watered down version. Thank you, Camilo @camilosketching for the list and hosting #architober !! 😊========Dated to the 2nd century, the temple has gone through negligence, wars, and natural disasters such as earthquakes that heavily damaged the structure, yet it continues to stand the test of time. Some of the engravings are still visible on the ceilings, pillars, and walls. 🙌I only sketched a small corner of the entire complex. Though less well known, this temple is larger than the Greek Parthenon and is one of the few remaining Roman temple ruins that is well-preserved.Imagine it in its heyday! ✨🏛️#moleskinsketchbook #micronfineliners #finelinerart #penandinkdrawing #linework #lineworkart #penillustration #inkillustration #sketchbookdrawing #architecturelovers #architecturaldrawings #architecturalsketches #sketchbookart #templeofbacchus #romantemple #romantempleruins #ruinsketch #ancientruins by @funsizeart
