#SeaWorldpartner We came for a fun day at @seaworldorlando … but left feeling like it was so much more than that.

Watching the kids slow down long enough to really observe, ask questions, and connect with the animal encounters honestly changed the whole experience for me.

It wasn’t just rides, it felt immersive. The kind of day where curiosity naturally takes over and everyone leaves having learned something without even realizing it.

As a homeschool mom, those are always my favorite kinds of experiences.

And I think that’s what stood out most this visit… seeing how much care, education, rescue, and conservation are woven throughout the park in ways kids can actually connect with.

Things to know before you go:
• There’s a really good mix of rides, animal experiences, shows, and food for all ages
• Plan time for the animal encounters, those ended up being some of our favorite moments

Right now, Spider-Man is basically a full personality trait over here.

I love getting to watch the things he’s into become his whole little world for a season. The costumes, the characters, the way his face changes when he spots something he loves…childhood joy really is that simple sometimes.

So naturally, walking into @primark at @shopfloridamall and seeing Spider-Man everywhere was a very serious situation.

Some stories don’t just scare you as a mom. They make you think about the kind of world your children are growing into and the kind of people you hope they become inside of it.

Lately I’ve been sitting with the tension between preparing them and frightening them.

I don’t want fear to become their inheritance.

I want them aware, but still free.
Discerning, but still open.
Confident in their boundaries, but also willing to notice when someone else needs help.

And I keep thinking about this:

I hope somebody notices mine.

So I have to raise mine to notice somebody else’s too.

To check in.
To speak up.
To not laugh something off when it feels wrong.
To understand that vulnerability is never permission.

Motherhood has made me realize how little control I’ll eventually have over the rooms they walk into.

Faith is what helps me release some of that.

I’ll keep doing my part at home, talking, listening, teaching, reminding, and trusting that what we pour into them follows them when I can’t.

I don’t want to raise children who are afraid of the world.

I want to raise children who know God, know who they are, know where home is, and know how to be good humans when nobody is watching.

As a boy mom, I know there will come a day when hanging out with Mama might not be his first choice. So while he still reaches for my hand, tells me the longest stories about absolutely nothing, and is perfectly happy for it to just be me and him, I want these moments.

Nothing elaborate. Just uninterrupted time to really see him, his personality, his interests, and the little person he’s becoming.

I’ve been intentional about doing this with both of my babies because they’re completely different little humans, and I want to know them individually, not just who we are as a family.

Boy moms, take the date. Let him talk. Hold his hand while he still reaches for yours. Because this version of him won’t be little forever.

Packing for ONE person had me checking my bag like… surely I forgot something.

No kid bags. No snacks for everybody. No backup outfits for everybody. Just me and my carry-on headed to NYC for a very important assignment.

My mini me is moving to Florida, so I’m flying up to New York to help her make the drive down.

Which means Mama might be off duty for the next 48 hours…but apparently I’ve also volunteered myself for a road trip.

I’m a sucker for a cute trend…and, hubs may be quite literal 😂 but the more I looked at his answers, the more I realized… wait. He might actually know me.

🌻Delicate: because underneath all the personality, there’s a softer side of me that he gets to see.

🤎Butter pecan: warm, rich, sweet… and apparently we’re just making up colors now.

☀️Summer: bright, adventurous, full of life and always ready to make a memory.

🌀Summer thunderstorm: warm and beautiful, but also intense, a little dramatic and absolutely capable of bringing some thunder. Honestly? Fair.

🥰Nostalgia: this one got me. Because after all these years together, we have so much history. I love the memories we’ve made, the traditions we’ve created and all the little moments that have become part of our story.

🍸Espresso martini: sophisticated, sweet with a little kick… okayyyyyyyy

🌮And tacos: fun, flavorful, not too fancy and always a good time. I’ll accept it.

So apparently, in my husband’s head, I’m a delicate, butter-pecan-colored summer thunderstorm who feels like nostalgia with the energy of an espresso martini and the comfort of tacos.

And somehow… I know EXACTLY what he means. 😂

We’re on the go A LOT, so when we’re home, lunch needs to be quick.

I try to build their plates with a mix of what we have on hand, sometimes that means freezer nuggets + tots, fresh green beans and blueberries. Nothing complicated, everybody ate, and that’s a win!

Now I need to know: what quick freezer foods are always in your house for the kids? I’m looking for more options to add to our rotation because nuggets are currently holding it down every week.
