Position update on Brent crude. After a small run up and then retest, of around the $95.50 mark, forming the double bottom as seen, the decision was taken to double the original position after a recovery had formed and the thesis held. This tied in with the Brent crude 10 year yields which helped oil fall causing the double bottom. We now know that China is tightening its fuel exports to protect their energy moat while uncertainly lurks in the the Middle East and also Europe. The US is threatening an oil export ban alike to protect their industrial complex and agricultural, if Germany doesn’t agree to release their reserves. This plays into the original thesis after the USA also fielded another large carrier strike group and Iran making threats to Israel. Not to mention their stubbornness to make a deal ans concede their nuclear ambitions. So after a sharp pull back from recent highs, due to cooling tensions, end of monthly contracts and the re opening of some of Saudis damaged diversional oil pipeline infrastructure. Here we are again with rising tensions, a defiant Iran and an impatient United States. After buying the pull back (dotted line) I’m betting on; more extensive military escalation in the Middle East. A broader regional war drawing in other key players in the Middle East. Potential deployment of US marines. And serious aggression from all sides. This is a key month as it is a midterm year which casts some doubt on Donald Trumps willingness to act, not to mention the questions around Americas offensive missile stockpile. However, my overall thesis, is bullish targeting previous recent highs and potential new all time highs. What about you?
