frame it. speak it. believe it - just a kid from bucket26

i’ll be the FIRST doctor in my family. 🩺
not just any doctor — a doctor that gives back!

that means operating at the intersection of medicine, dentistry, and art.

i’ll treat trauma, correct birth conditions, restore faces, rebuild confidence.

from cleft lip and palate in newborns to jaw surgeries that change lives —

i’ll be working with babies, children, adults — healing not just bodies, but stories.

i’ll show up for every patient with precision, compassion, empathy and pride.

because this is bigger than me — this is for the ones who call me auntie, my community, my younger self who dared to dream this big.

and for the ones i lost along the way — i will carry you into every OPERATING ROOM with me

i’m not just building a career — i’m building a legacy.

📸 go ahead and frame this.
because one day soon, this will be a before photo.

WHAM WHAM B!TCH WE TURNT UP! by @futuredr.brea

I didn’t grow up thinking a college degree was in the cards for me — but today, I stand here with one in hand and a whole lot of purpose in my heart. This isn’t just a win for me… it’s for the little ones watching me, the ones coming after me, and the version of me who didn’t know this was possible.

To my nephews and nieces: I hope this shows you that no matter where you come from, anything is possible. You can break cycles. You can make new ones🧡

To my parents: thank you for being my foundation🏡

To my sisters: thank you for being my biggest cheerleaders and a shoulder when I needed one👩🏿‍🤝‍👩🏾

To my grandfather in heaven: I carry your strength with me every step🕊️

To Jasir: I’ll carry you with me for the rest of this journey. You’ll live through me♾️

To my cats: thanks for the late-night cuddles and silent support — even when I was stressed and studying at 2 a.m🐈

To everyone who’s poured into me — thank you. Your love got me here🫂

To my younger self: Look at us. We did it 🥹🎉

My purpose is rooted in giving back, in helping people like me, the young black boys & girls, my city and I’m just getting started. This degree is only the beginning. Next stop: Bachelor’s. Final destination: Dr. 🦷
