What most don’t know is that future psychologists also participate in the Match, after completing hundreds of unpaid clinical hours (1292 to be exact).

Applying for the Match is an extensive process filled with cover letters, essays, supplemental materials, interviews, plus the preparation for all these components started in June 2025. As you may know, June 2025 I had my open myomectomy, so it has been A JOURNEY to say the least.

To be more transparent, I applied to 17 programs and was only offered 2 interviews. After interviews, you rank your programs, they rank you, and an algorithm matches you.

Although having 2 interviews was very discouraging, I was offered an interview at my #1 program, the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, for their Child/Adolescent track. God is so funny because what I thought was rejection was actually protection and clarity and Him helping me focus on where He wants me next.

Thank you Jesus! 😭🥳🤭

In honor of Suicide Prevention Month, I wanted to share a few moments of happiness from this year so far! 🥹🙂‍↕️🥰🌈🦋💕✨

As someone who is a suicide loss survivor, I take my happiness very seriously. Grief is an interesting journey, but I do my very best to make them proud and live my life to the fullest. And I can confidently say they wouldn’t want it any other way 🤣🥲🪽🫶🏽

If you’ve lost someone to suicide, know that you are not alone and that you have people both in Heaven and on Earth rooting for you! ✨💜🩵

I haven’t had a space of my own since I was a third-grade teacher. 🥹

And to know me is to know that I’ve always believed the spaces we create matter. As a former teacher, I took so much pride in making my classroom a place where learning was fun, intentional, and reflective of the energy I wanted my students to feel. 🦒📚🔥

Now, for the first time since 2020, I have an office of my own! And getting to decorate it, pour my personality into it, and intentionally create an environment that feels safe has been such a full-circle moment. ✨

Every little detail was chosen with intention. I wanted to create a space where my kiddos could walk in and immediately feel warmth, comfort, safety, and most importantly, know that they are welcome exactly as they are.

This is a space where they can come in, exhale, unpack, and begin to release some of the hardest experiences they’ve ever had to carry. ❤️‍🩹

To be trusted to sit with little people through some of the most traumatic experiences of their lives is something I will never take for granted. 💜

Creating my office has been one of the many highlights of this chapter. It’s a beautiful reminder of how far I’ve come, and an even more beautiful reflection of how far my patients can and will go.
