The last set of my trip was at none other than, Sun and Bass.

It was a true honour to be on the same line up as so many legends of the drum and bass scene.

Keir was planning to come with me for this set, but I know he was with me in spirit soaking up the vibes!

Big thanks to Cleveland Watkiss, LowQui Mc, Klute, Bill Kang and of course Stefano for helping to make this happen, it truly was a bucket list moment. by @futureengineers_transference

I wanted to say a big thank you to everyone that came to see me play my debut set in Hong Kong.

It was such a special trip for me and so inspiring to meet such a lovely crowd who genuinely appreciate the music.

Future Engineers (Lee Batchelor and Keir Cleminson) have been producing drum & bass music since 1996, with releases on labels such as LTJ Bukem’s Good Looking Records, Blame’s 720 Degrees, Renegade Recordings, Partisan Recordings, Temple Records and Vibez Recordings.

The FE sound is what we'd describe as truly underground, truly beautiful music.

This season has a strong feature of re-connection with the roots, the soul and the storytelling aspect of the Genre, no matter your style, liquid, neuro, whatever, there is a story there.

The days when music was about lighting up your imagination, getting totally lost in a journey within your mind, headphones on as the world scans past your train window. Or in the special hours of a club when the DJ just has everybody in the palm of their hand, no ego, no phones, just ‘that place’. Music that just fills you with sense that it’s all good, you know?

We think atmospheric Drum & Bass is already starting to rightfully work its way back into peoples minds and what better artist than Lee of Future Engineers to be part of the new season, sharing his teaching, sound and experience. 🔥

Some things seem impossible to write but today I’m sharing the heartbreaking news that my best friend Keir Cleminson has passed away, after showing incredible strength and courage over the last three years with his battle with cancer.

There are very few people who know you from the very beginning of your life. Keir was one of those people for me. We had known each other since we were babies, and he was truly like a brother.

Keir was also the other half of Future Engineers, an extraordinary musical talent, my creative partner, and the heart behind so much of what we made together.

There is still music we began together, and when the time is right, I will finish it and make sure it honours Keir and everything we created together.

I know we’ll make music together again one day. Until then, Keir will always be with me in Future Engineers, my muse, my guide, and the voice that keeps me true to what we built. by @futureengineers_transference
