Cheers 🥂 to me building & closing on my new home in the middle of a pandemic and inflated housing market. This moment was so personal & emotional for me so for over a month now, I’ve been on ☁️ nine, celebrating in private. As a realtor however, I have a duty to encourage you to not let this inflation stop you from achieving your goal and becoming a homeowner. 🏠😬What should have been a 6-7 months process, took over a year. It was very frustrating due to the building material supply shortage resulting from COVID and high consumer prices. I lost count of how many times my closing was delayed but I knew what I wanted and I was determined to make it to the finish line. For every impediment, I found a solution. There were moments when I felt defeated but quickly shifted to a solution-based mindset. Design meetings galore! I worked diligently with my builder to design every little detail to my liking and standard and negotiated my contract every step of the way with both my builder and the bank! What I do realize is brokering my own deal as a licensed realtor®️ made it a tad bit easier and alleviated some of the mental anguish.🥴 It was nonetheless, ALL worth it.❤️ If you’ve been considering buying but don’t feel confident to proceed during an inflation, this is your sign. Take off!! We don’t have a timeline on when the market will shift so playing the waiting game may not be the wisest choice.
