Amongst the many shows we played that year, one that will always remain close to our hearts was our appearance on ‘The Late Show With Stephen Colbert’ where we debuted ‘King Of Sweden’. The energy in The Ed Sullivan Theatre was electric. This was one for the books!

From a Hole in the Floor to a Fountain of Youth.

Collected songs from the first twenty years. Out May 22. Pre-order now via the link in bio.

A collection of rare and long-hidden recordings, tracing our journey from house shows and small rooms to the world this music opened up for us. These songs have lived quietly in the background over the years—shared between fans and held onto by us—a kind of secret history.

From the everyday to the dream, this record captures the moments in between: the slow burners, the overlooked pieces, and the paths that shaped who we became as a band.

The first two singles, “Sail” (written and recorded during the As Long As You Are sessions, and released on a limited tour-only 7” in 2025) and “Find Love” (originally released in 2011 as the B-side to “Before the Bridge”), are out now—two songs from different moments in this story. Listen wherever you stream music.

A few moments from the road this year. Looking forward to getting back out there in November, joining @thestrokes for shows in Peru and Ecuador.

See you soon, South America.

A few moments from the Fountain of Youth Tour.

Earlier this year, we returned to some of the places that shaped us and celebrated 20 years of Future Islands with so many familiar faces and friends.

Looking back on these shows with a lot of love. Thanks to everyone who shared them with us. by @futureislands

A performance of “In the Fall” from the archives, live on KXLU 88.9 FM Los Angeles’ Demolisten in 2010.

We first released “In the Fall” that same year, and sixteen years later it found a new home on From a Hole in the Floor to a Fountain of Youth. Really nice to come across moments like this from the early days of the band. by @futureislands

Balance, live at @pitchfork Nightcap in Portland, 2014.

2014 was a big year for us. We released Singles, played Letterman, and spent most of the year on the road. After years of playing smaller rooms, we were starting to see some much bigger ones. A lot changed that year, but we were still doing what we had always done, which was getting in the van and playing shows. by @futureislands

The Cradle has been part of our lives since long before Future Islands began. We grew up going to shows there, saw so many bands that inspired us, and eventually got to stand on that stage ourselves.

Coming back for three nights on our 20th anniversary tour was really special. Thanks to everyone who shared them with us. by @futureislands
