hopecore!!! by @futureliciousmag

I’ve rebranded my Substack, where I’ve been publishing think pieces on just about every imaginable topic under the sun for the past three years. Without a doubt, critiquing current trends (meta glasses i‘m looking at you!!!!) is incredibly important. Mandatory, even. However, I’ve realized that even as progressive voices, we’ve become trapped in a media ecosystem that rewards outrage far more than imagination. We CAN and SHOULD be astronomically enraged at all the atrocities unfolding in the world, but thinking rage alone is a political strategy is just as illusory as thinking an alarm system is a blueprint for a new house. @futureliciousmag is my small contribution to building the kind of media that doesn’t stop at diagnosing the present, but cultivates the imagination required to design futures worthy of humanity. It’s a reader-supported publication and most articles won‘t be paywalled, as I want these ideas to be as accessible as possible. If you’d like to help build this kind of media ecosystem, you can become a founding member by choosing your own price, gift someone a yearly subscription (€50/year), or join as a monthly member for €5. Every subscription helps keep this publication independent while making it possible to pay fair wages for the work that goes into it. I’m incredibly excited for this new chapter, and all I hope is that it helps as many people as possible replace the feeling of helplessness with the conviction that the future is still ours to shape. 💚
