Two things tend to surprise people about how we develop fragrance.

The first is that we rarely know where we’re going when we begin.

We don’t hand science a shopping list of notes. We hand it our curiosity instead. We don’t know what the olfactive experience will be when we start.

The second is that we give our perfumers full creative freedom to interpret what they see.

We don’t ask them to follow the data. We ask them to interpret it. That is how somewhere in that process, Wandering Rain became tea.
