Our new @BlitzVega (Andy Rourke, Kav) single is out now!

After announcing details of the debut album ‘Northern Gentleman’ on what would’ve been co-founder Andy Rourke’s 60th birthday, Blitz Vega today share the new single ‘Lost Myself’. The band founded by Andy Rourke and Kav - will then release ‘Northern Gentleman’ on September 27th.

Stream link in bio, available on all streaming platforms.

Kav says, “‘Lost Myself’ was both of our favourite songs on the album. It was inspired by our journeys of losing people and the moments of dealing with grief, trying to find the balance to be able to get on with life. Although we wrote the song in the summer of 2019, I rewrote the lyrics early in 2023 when I was travelling back from NYC to LA finishing the album whilst seeing Andy in hospital dealing with his illness.

Jan 17 Would have been our friend & band mate Andy Rourke’s 61st Birthday.

We feel privileged to have spent so much time laughing, smiling, creating & recording with one of the most genuine, humble & talented musicians around. In Los Angeles in 2016 Andy co-founded @BlitzVega & last September we finally released the album ‘Northern Gentleman’ he’d dedicated 7 years to making as part of a promise that was made to him before he passed.

Thank you for the friendship, music & memories. Happy Birthday Andy x

Thank you to UNCUT magazine 🙏 7/10
“If lan Brown solo had aped New Order at their most anthemic,“Disconnected” might have resulted, while “Hole In My Heart” offers up infectious La’s-y pop All of which makes this a fittingly upbeat swansong for a bassist whose creative worth wasn’t always fully appreciated.”
