On April 6th at 1:33 pm, I was flying back to Atlanta from Tampa when my @delta flight unexpectedly was diverted to Jacksonville, FL after being told by the pilot @atlairport was closed due to inclement weather and our plane, Flight 1099, needed to refuel. By the time we landed, my flight had been in the air for 3 hours with limited snacks and water. Once we landed in Jacksonville at 5:10 pm, we sat on the plane (we never refueled) for 5 hours with no power to charge phones and no snacks on the tarmac waiting depart again. Finally at 10:10 pm (8 hours later) I was allowed off the plane. We had to walk 100 yards to get to a gate. Once at the gate, Delta gave no further direction and at 11:15 pm, we were told the flight was canceled and we would fly back to Atlanta the next day. Delta offered no food and no hotel voucher for the inconvenience. I was forced to remain in Jacksonville and pay for a hotel out of pocket.After returning to Atlanta, I realized that in addition to being stranded in Jacksonville, someone hacked my Sky Miles account and stole 100,000 miles. When I called @delta to report the stolen miles, the customer service rep was fantastic and my miles were returned. However, when I wanted to report my flight experience, I was told I needed to make a formal complaint online and I did. As you can see from the @delta email responses, Delta only offered 5,000 miles for my inconvenience which is the equivalent of $50 bucks. I spent more money staying in Jacksonville! 😡 I informed @delta that was unacceptable because my friend on the same flight, was offered 15,000 Sky Miles and I was told that her situation was probably different from mine. Not the case. My friend was allowed to exit the plane about 45 minutes before I did, so my situation was worse.After repeated requests to speak with a Delta rep on the phone, I never received a call. Through email I was told Delta had nothing else to offer and that my complaint would remain in my file. #unacceptable #delta #customerfeedback by @futurestokey
