FUU HBB CONFESSIONS - PART 1

“How long have you been doing this?”
“How do you manage everything?”

I get asked this quite a lot.

The honest answer?

One year. Still figuring X out. 😂

I thought I was starting a small home business.

Turns out, I was also becoming the barista, buyer, packer, cleaner, accountant, content creator, customer service, stock controller…

Basically, the entire company. 🥲

There was no manual.
No proper training.
Just:

Do → mess up → fix → repeat.

Some things worked.
Some didn’t.
Some made me wonder why I started in the first place. 😌

But that’s probably the real HBB journey.

Everyone starts differently.
Different reasons.
Different goals.
Different circumstances.
Different levels of support.

There’s no one-size-fits-all way to make it work.

One year in, I’m still learning.
Still experimenting.
Still figuring things out as I go.

No rush.
No perfect master plan.

Just one little corner, one sip, one lesson at a time. 🤎

Thinking of starting an HBB?
Swipe. It’s not a warning.
Just a reality check. 🤎

Feeling extra grateful today ❤️🥰

A big thank you to @ourkebunbaru team for featuring FUU and supporting FUU’s little coffee & matcha journey. ☕️🍵

And to everyone who has supported FUU — ordered a can, shared a post, recommended FUU to your friends, or simply cheered us on — thank you. 🥹🫶🏻

FUU may be a small solo business, but having the support of our Kebun Baru community makes this journey feel extra special.

Now you all know who’s behind FUU…
Yoshima Foo, aka Lady FUU 😄 — 50 years young and still making coffee & matcha one can at a time! 🫣☕️🍵

POV: you found the little corner behind the FUU cans. 🤎

Matcha whisked to order.
Espresso pulled one shot at a time.
Every can packed with a little FUU magic.

Some days? Peaceful.
Some days? Absolute chaos.

But every single sip is made with the same thing:

A little more love than necessary.

This is not a café.
This is not a factory.

This is FUU.
Made for U. 🫶🏻

Come find your sip.
Stay for the mood. 🤎

And maybe, just maybe,
let a little FUU find its way to more of U. ✨ by @fuu.mood

I traded my corporate laptop
for a matcha whisk & coffee machine.

Boardrooms became my home corner.
Meetings became conversations at my doorstep.
And colleagues became people I never knew I’d meet.

Somewhere between the warm wood,
the quiet little corner,
the sound of the espresso machine
and the matcha being whisked —

I found something I didn’t know I was looking for.

A little calm.
A little connection.
And a lot of happiness in the simplest things.

This little corner is FUU.
And somehow, it feels very much like me.

SOLO RUN. BIG FUU ENERGY. ✨

After decades of deadlines, presentations, project timelines, conference calls and enough meetings to last a lifetime….

When I started FUU in October 2025, a few friends asked:

“Are you sure you want to do this?”
Honestly?

I never doubted it.
I just knew I had to make it happen.

That’s FUU.

So I traded PowerPoints for matcha whisks.
Project trackers for coffee beans.
Regional calls for conversations with customers.

Sounds romantic.

Reality check: running a HBB is not always glamorous.

Some days start with no orders at all.

Some days make you wonder.

Some days make you laugh.

That’s HBB life.

What I never expected was the PEOPLE.

Through FUU, I’ve met neighbours from my block and beyond, people from different cultures and nationalities, adorable dogs, curious little kids, familiar faces who keep coming back, and Grab drivers who share stories from a full day on the road while waiting for an order.

And of course, FUU’s CEO, Mei Mei, who somehow captures more hearts than anyone else. 🐱

Some of you may have also met FUU’s unofficial security officer...Yes, The neighbour’s dog who announces your arrival. You know who you are 😆

Seeing familiar faces return week after week cheers me up more than you probably realize.

People often ask me what my goal is.

Honestly?

I don’t dream of becoming the biggest café.

I don’t dream of opening multiple outlets.

I don’t dream of going viral and ending up spending my days managing a team while someone else does the part I enjoy most.

The part I love is still simple:
Whisking matcha.
Pulling coffee shots.
Packing orders.
And chatting with whoever comes by to pick up their sips.

Maybe success for FUU isn’t about becoming bigger.

Maybe it’s about becoming sustainable.

Enough to pay the bills.

Enough to keep creating.

Enough to keep sharing good sips and good conversations.

And if along the way I’ve made a few friends and built a little community around this tiny AMK corner, that’s already pretty special.

If you’ve ever picked up a FUU, what’s the one thing you remember most?

Drop me a note below.
I’d love to hear your story too 💚 by @fuu.mood

🪔 Celebrating the colours and flavours of Deepavali! 💚🧡

Inspired by the festive season, FUU brings you CHAI CHA — where aromatic chai spices meet smooth ceremonial-grade matcha, layered with creamy milk for a sip that’s warming, earthy and delightfully different.

A little festive fusion, a little FUU magic.

Matcha meets chai. A warmer kind of calm.

✨ Our seasonal sip, made the FUU way.

Happy Deepavali to everyone celebrating! 🪔

Funny how life changes. ✨

Once upon a time, my days were about targets, meetings, deadlines and never ending projects.

Now? My deadlines are waiting for orders to come in… or trying not to get overwhelmed when too many orders arrive at the same time. 😂

From corporate life to making matcha and coffee in my little AMK corner, life looks very different now.

Maybe happiness doesn’t always have to be something big.

Sometimes, it’s in the little things. Creating something you love, finding your own rhythm, and making a really good matcha or coffee.

Sometimes, simplicity is the ultimate indulgence. 🍵🤎
