T- 2 days until I join the 5% of black women who hold a degree in Psychology 🎓.

Being a part of THEE #1 Psychology Program at an HBCU in North Carolina shaped me in more ways than I could have imagined. This journey challenged me, pushed me beyond my comfort zone, and reminded me that I am capable of more than I ever gave myself credit for. I’m beyond grateful for the professors who poured into us, the classmates who inspired me daily, and every lesson that helped me grow into the person I am today.

As I step into Educational Psychology, my purpose remains the same: creating supportive and empowering spaces for youth, especially those from underserved communities, so they can recognize their potential beyond their circumstances.

With that being said, I’m excited to announce that I have officially accepted a full-time position within the Public School System and have also been accepted into one of my top 3 Master’s programs. 🙏🏽

One degree down… and I’m only getting started. 🧠🤫 (2/3) by @fw.jorddyy

Not Eagle born, but forever Eagle bred.

To my amazing university 🦅, thank you.
2.5 years ago, you gave me a second chance. You welcomed me in and allowed me the space to grow into the woman I always knew I could be. My journey here wasn’t easy, but it was purposeful. From the moment I stepped on campus, I knew exactly what I wanted, and now I can say I’ve done exactly what I came here to do. This illustrious university has not only shaped me, but has created a space deeply rooted in service, inclusiveness, and Black culture, paving the way for so many young Black students like me to thrive.

To my family 🧑‍🧑‍🧒‍🧒, there are no words that could ever be enough. Thank you for allowing me to walk my own path without judgment. You’ve always told me I could do anything, and you meant it. Because of you, I moved through these years with peace, knowing that no matter what, I was supported financially, spiritually, emotionally, and mentally. A lot of people don’t get to experience college without worry, but you gave me that gift. This degree is not just mine, it’s ours. You are my foundation, my reason, my everything. FOREVER US.

To my friends 🫶🏾, my people.
You were placed in my life at exactly the right time. Thank you for every laugh, every tear, every crash out, and every wild idea you supported anyway. “Friend” is not a title I give lightly, but each and every one of you has earned it. My kind-hearted queens, never change. You are all so beautifully unique, and I’m endlessly grateful for you. 🤍

To my mentors 🥹, two powerful Black women who represent everything I aspire to be. When I first came to Central, I was uncertain and still finding my way. Meeting you both changed everything. You didn’t just guide my college journey, you shaped my future. Your strength, wisdom, and dedication to uplifting the next generation of Black women is something I will carry with me forever. Thank you for pouring into me, believing in me, and helping me become the woman I am today.

What can I say?
The little girl in me is smiling, proud, whole, and even more resilient. 🫵🏾 (1/3) by @fw.jorddyy
