POSTS STORIES REELS

Every good community needs a cooling off period.

Ours came courtesy of @formulamcr and @fwd.mcr, our neighbours in St. John's, and an ice bath with Department at Bonded Warehouse. Most community events warm the room up. This one went the other way.

No graceful way in. No checking emails. One shared story to take back to the desk. - Are you brave enough for the next one?

🌸Menopause is a word that as a woman we feel it has nothing to do with us while we are young.

🗝️The truth is Menopause is natural cycle therefore you never know when it will arrive . We need to learn about it to support our loved ones and be prepared. especially for someone like me with stage four of endometriosis on many treatments at the same time and being offered chemical menopause multiple time and with the fear of possibility of going into an early menopause.

Today I had the privilege to learn from Emma @emmanevillethisisme who has gone through an early menopause at age of 40 out of a quite blue. She kindly shared her experience with transparency and how her symptoms affected her. Also, she gave tips on how keep an eye on your body changes and learn about it while you are young .

This session started with William half method breast work with @janechannelswim and followed by an ice bath. If you have not done ice bath or swim before PLEASE do it guides the first time. Also The Wim Hof method is not something you should do on your one. Get a qualified instructor. It is very surreal experience and this was my second time I will do it again 🥰
After warming up, we had very interesting discussion about menopause.

The moral of the post is learn about it compassionate to people going through it and seek HELP. Suffering it not normal, if you cannot find the right medical professional seek second opinion 🫶🏼 You deserve a well managed menopause 🌸

If you are a man and not experiencing menopause and period . FYI there is nothing more charming than a man who gets you as a female so get your studying brain on and learn about it. 😎

Thank you for @fwd.mcr for organising

*SPECIAL MENOPAUSE EVENT*
SATURDAY 5TH OCTOBER 9AM
A TALK BY @emmanevillethisisme
ICE + BREATH SESSION W/ @janechannelswim

We are partnering with Emma, to discuss the mystery of the Menopause, and share some tools to help you navigate it’s challenges, something that both breath and cold water can help with.

Emma is a person centred counsellor & Menopause coach, who experienced an early Menopause aged 40 (the average age for a woman to start the menopause in the UK is 51!) Receiving this diagnosis encouraged Emma to research the topic, gain an understanding of what is really involved, & study to be a menopause coach.

She will share the practices she developed to overcome the obstacles she experienced whilst going through this change, & help us understand that we have to take ownership in understanding our own bodies more.

Our usual Breathwork and Ice Bath session will follow Emma’s talk, a powerful combination in combatting many of the symptoms of the Peri Menopause and Menopause.

Recently, a study of more than 1100 women (785 of them in menopause) was published showing that menopausal women found that cold water swimming helped relieve a host of their symptoms, including lessened anxiety (47%), improved mood swings (35%), elevated low mood (31%), and improved hot flashes (30 percent). The majority of them (63%) reported swimming specifically to relieve their symptoms.
