How it started vs how it's going: Two years ago, after watching @ultra4racing 18th King of the Hammers, @dustincarr_ and @66_swepty_ decided to chase their dream of off-road racing. In the span of a few days, they found 4648 for sale in Reno and dropped everything to go buy her: a little XJ with a legacy, a solid race platform to build our program off of and in need of a little love to bring her back to life. Over the last two years, Preston has painstakingly (and pretty much single-handily) got this little race jeep back up to race standards, solved a multitude of mysterious problems and gave her the bright orange paint job of our dreams. He made his rookie debut with Dustin as his co-dawg last year at the Area BFE beatdown, where they got their first flop out of the way 🙌🏻 We have had the incredible opportunity to not only represent our family-run and owned business @ezflate but we also have been honored to be backed by industry leaders like @milestar.tires @thretoffroad @ruffstuffspecialties @superwinchofficial @adamsdriveshaft @prpseats and more on the race course. While we have yet to make it to KOH (or finish a race 😅) this little race jeep has given our family so much joy as we've watched Preston & Dustin chase this dream. Bad news: As we worked on Khaos last weekend to prepare for the Ultra4 Race in MY, we discovered we needed to do some custom fabrication on the front end of Khaos and couldn't make it happen fast enough for the Big Sky 200 😢 Good news: Preston was able to get the majority of the custom fabrication work done this week and solve the diff clearance issues we ran into with the help of our buddy @tomtomsshop - so Khaos is in the final stages of being put back together in order to do a shake down run of our new steering and links from @rpm_steering! We have our sights set on the upcoming @bor_racing here in Utah and can't wait to get some seat time under this old gal and all her new parts! #jeepxj #jeepcherokeexj #teamezflate #ultra4racing #racejeep by @fxf.racing

Got a little sneak peek for you guys 👀 Chelsie explains why Khaos has become the perfect testing platform for new products and ideas. If a part can survive the abuse this thing sees on the trail and race course, that’s a pretty solid sign. This prototype roll bar compressor mount has been getting tested hard lately, and we figured it was time to show you a little of what’s been cooking behind the scenes. Last year at @area.bfe we raced on very old, very bald tires and wheels (pretty sure they were a set that ran KOH years before we bought her) and got a flat tire in the first 20 minutes of our first lap 🤣 This year? We proudly represented @milestar.tires and @thretoffroad and didn't deal with a single tire issue through our pre-running, qualifying lap, or race day. We're honored to not only be partnered with companies that truly believe in our family dream, but are also the best in the industry for a reason! We'll be bringing on a few more partners before our race in June and we can't wait to share who else has joined the Fueled by Family Racing program!
