Been a while (edit: since I’ve posted on insta)... Lil selfie proof of bikes from @lincolnbyoung’s birthday party yesterday. Was gonna re-film that blurry ice when Cannon took a bit of a freak fall and slice his lip on an edge. Couple of stitches handled like a champ. Cannon turns seven. He’s sharp, adorable, and full of energy and love. He struggles to not be silly and is finally getting to the point where he’s not afraid to show it to anyone he comes across. His birthday was last Saturday and, today, I kept thinking of what a gift he is. I am constantly reminded to soak it all in… Thank you for the great day (and life), @ambs_appleby. ❤️
I make these videos for him; keepsakes of special days or occasions for him to look back on in 30/40/50 years. I often get married to small moments or scenes and make them too long to post on social. This one seemed to be okay. Happy Father’s Day, ya’ll. by @fyanrudger

Selling prints of some images I’ve shot over the years for just another 48 hours… Scroll on through and if you see something you want to put on yer wall, go to ourbmx.com/shop or click from the photo and put in an order before I take it offline. Been a bit of a scattered week and I wasn’t able to put in the order with the lab (or even do this post til now), so extending it until Sunday 8pm PST.
Prints will be made to order and professionally printed here in San Diego on Fuji Pro Luster. Each will be signed (on the back) with limited print number of how many exist. Free shipping within the states and I’ll be throwing in one or two old Ride BMX magazine proofs, too. Will order prints Monday morning and all should be shipped by mid next week. Definitely an honor for anyone to want to put something I’ve shot on display, so thank you very much. 🤝🤝

Together for eleven, married for nine. Life has changed a lot: cities, homes, hair color (hers blonde, mine gray), and of course the size of our family. We couldn’t have mapped it out if we tried, but two things are for certain… We’ve done pretty damn good and we couldn’t have done it without one another. Happy anniversary, @ambs_appleby. 20 years ago. The staff section from the Ride’s Livin’ In Exile DVD with @glennppmilligan @mulligan4130 @jeffzphoto and @marklosey. Tiny bars and brakes, Mulligan and the big wheel, fufanus I don’t remember doing, and the infamous quad jump over the spine that @gbradmcdonald paid me $100 to not try again. 🤣🤣 Endless amounts of good memories from the Ride BMX days… by @fyanrudger

Forced the free time to head out to @colonyvw’s magical backyard paradise outside of Brisbane. It’s kind of like a metal OB with way more variety, less hips, and wild kangaroos hanging out. Truly a crazy spot that I hope I can ride again for more than an hour or so. Nothing special riding-wise (as usual), but proof of bikes. Couple of Shanghai spot souvenirs from last week.. Did a couple of missions and really struggled to find much really worth riding, but stumbled over some spot gold one night. The quarter is basically unreal, but so damn dark. Managed to squeak out the world’s crappiest tire slide and made plans to come during the day. Unfortunately, it was locked down with security and/or covered with kids. 😖 I’m bringing a light with me if ever come back… Thanks to @dustin_t_orem for responding to the spot signal as quick as possible, haha. And, shout out to @fiseworld for having me out to cover their event. Coverage is you know where… by @fyanrudger

Sub-par six in the morning solo sessions in Chiba, Japan… Been making a conscious effort to ride on trips and the spots in Japan always deliver oddity (thanks to Google maps for spot one and @bkachinsky for the second). Both spots were pretty harsh and riding alone ain’t that awesome, but glad to get a couple sessions in. I owe a huge thank you to @dustin_t_orem for letting me use his wheel, too. 🤝🤝 by @fyanrudger

Proof of bikes Budapest edition. Little solo cruise thanks to a rain delay at the @olympics Qualifier. Not much for riding alone, but this streetpark wedge to wedge was too fun and figured I should get something on an unrelated Olympic ring spot for, you know, the synergy. by @fyanrudger

A tribute to Pat… I wasn’t planning to post it here, but it feels like I should.
Little bit of insight/backstory: Sean at Monster asked if I could put together an instagram video to mark a year since the passing of Pat Casey. One of those situations where I had to say yes, but I also wasn’t looking forward to how heavy it would surely be…
The search for footage quickly became overwhelming—the amount of crazy shit Pat had done and reminders of all the randomness we experienced around the world. But mostly, the footage of him with his family really, really hit hard. The entire process was filled with big feelings and I think how sentimental I became really took control of the feel of the entire edit. I also realized pretty quickly that anything under 60 seconds was out the window. So yeah, a three minute sampling of what Pat had accomplished on his bike and a few clips that attempt to show what a force and inspiration he was off of the bike. My grand takeaway? It was really easy to find footage of Pat smiling…
I know it’s not a “happy” edit, but it is a celebration of Pat and all he was. I hope others enjoyed it. Thanks to @capsean and @monsterenergy for trusting me to put this together and for not flinching about posting a three minute instagram video.
