It’s been almost a year and a half since we’ve run Betty, and we’re definitely missing her — so we pulled one from the archives to kick off Terminator Tuesday. Betty has been in the family for 23 years, and she still means as much to us now as she did back then. Betty’s semifinal and final rounds from @matslv — March 2025. Two important rounds in a fast field, with in-car footage from one of our favorite Betty videos. As of recent years, there's only been two major events in Las Vegas for#outlaw #smalltire racers. One being in the fall at #streetcarsupernationals @scsn_psca and one being in the beginning of spring @matslv #musclecarsatthestrip . @redtidegt did a great job of rounding up some big names in the small tire and no prep racing world by advertising a $10k pay out and got heavy hitters like Lance Knigge , Branden James, Norcal Alex 5150 , Cody Cook and many others and came up with the stiffest 20 car field that we've seen in quite some time. Proud to say that #teamfyr did very well, with @tomikaze6 making it to round 2 before being taken out by #teamfyr @brad.auerbach . @brad.auerbach ran many rounds as well and made it to the #semifinals #moneyround before meeting up with #FYRbetty . Happy to say #fyrbetty made it all the way to the end , we were thrown a curve ball since the track was prepped seconds before the finals and we had our #noprep tuneup in it and was clipped at the finish line by our long time friend and rival Lance who swung for the fences on us (quite possibly to have revenge on us from a few years back when we took him out 😬). We have so many people to thank for such a great weekend! @frank_hd_life who's the best crew chief anyone can ask for. @kingcobruh01 for spending time helping us get all the cars ready for this event. @mytaxy1320 @carlo_brunooo @neilpressimone Sketchy Adam Hudak and Juddi for coming out and making sure we were prepped and in the groove . @_mzfyr_ for setting her own racing time aside with #fyrbluesclues to ensure #fyrbetty and I were safe to race.Our supporters and workers @brad.auerbach and Kian even though they were racing, we are a team and helped each other through the weekend. We went down to @boostaddictzofficial #gitdown #trackside2 in Tucson for some front of the track action with #fyrbetty . We wanted to enter the High Roller Small Tire class but there wasn't any cars in that class so they put us in (regular) #smalltire and we ended up Winning the class with a 16 car field! Want to thank my team and crew @brad.auerbach @frank_hd_life and @_mzfyr_ for the late nights after shop time to get #fyrbetty ready and making the drive all the way from LV so they can crew for #fyrbetty and help get us in the winner's circle! Also want to thank @precisionxdetail for always making sure #fyrbetty looks her best! A quick look at what it takes to put together an #AJPE #481X. A build like this is a reminder that high-level race engines are rarely just assembly. Every detail has to be measured, fitted, checked, and often modified before the final package comes together. From establishing bearing clearances, to finding true TDC, to degreeing the cam, setting roller cam thrust, indexing the flying-magnet crank trigger, phasing the magneto, verifying rocker geometry and dog-bone/lifter travel, checking pushrod length and adjuster position, setting valve lash, fitting the mechanical fuel system, verifying pump-drive engagement and endplay, setting sensor air gaps, checking injector and fuel-rail fitment, and working through all the small clearances, fastener details, and fitment issues that come with a purpose-built combination — every part of the engine has to be measured, verified, and made to work together. And this engine reminded us that when it comes to purpose built engines, just because the same engine platform was in the car before doesn’t mean this engine is the same. Different parts, different dimensions, different clearances, different fitment — every combination has to be treated as its own build. The best part is getting to share the process with my family along the way. Long days, late nights, teaching the next generation, spending time, and working side by side — all of it becomes part of the build. Getting this one back together in #fyrbetty during my birthday weekend, after sitting for a year and a half, made it mean that much more. #fyritupsolutions #fyrsolutions by @fyritupsolutions

Hennessey Venom 1000 Revival This car originally came to us with a catastrophic engine failure that destroyed the bottom end and original block. During diagnosis, we found that the oil pump had failed, causing a complete loss of oil pressure. After searching for a suitable replacement, we found another 8.3L V10 and tore it down for inspection. The crankshaft was verified standard/standard and appeared to be in good condition, and overall the engine looked like a solid replacement candidate within our customer’s budget. As we continued inspecting and preparing the engine for the Hennessey, we found a few areas that needed additional attention. With the owner’s approval, we removed the damaged section of the block, fabricated a billet-aluminum repair piece, and TIG welded it into place. During inspection, we also noticed what appeared to be a hairline fracture in one of the sleeves. After cutting the sleeve out, we found a crack in the cylinder wall behind it. We repaired the damaged area and installed a replacement sleeve. Once the block repairs were completed to our standards, we inspected the remaining components, replaced the parts that were needed, installed the customer’s rebuilt ported heads, and continued assembling the engine. Afterwards we ran it on our Dynocom hub dyno and it put down 946 Rwhp/883 Rwtq in 110+F Vegas heat on 91/100 octane mix. These 8.3L V10 blocks are becoming extremely difficult to replace, standard journal cranks are nearly impossible to find and bearings for non-standard cranks are practically impossible to source, so sometimes the right solution isn’t finding a flawless block—it’s carefully inspecting a viable one, correcting the areas that need attention, and putting it back together properly. 🔧🔥 #fyritsupsolutions #fyrsolutions #hennesseyvenom #dodgeviper #v10 by @fyritupsolutions

Side-by-Side Saturday 🔥 Probably the best race of the weekend at the @matslv 2025 Small Tire Class. We had a couple tight races during elims, and this was definitely one of them. @bigwracing_warren @ronnnylink tuned Camaro got out about a car on Betty, but that #AJPE Oldsmobilepower with @precisionturbo just stops the rotation of the 🌎 from the 330-foot mark on. Flashback Friday — SCSN 2019 Looking back at #fyrlorraine, which qualified near the front of Xtreme Drag Radial with a 4.15 at 193.27 mph, setting top speed of the class for the weekend. We turned it down for this first-round pass and still went 4.20s at over 180 mph. Fast-forward seven years, we've applied what we learned with this program to #fyrbluesclues with an all-steel, all-glass, full-interior car powered by a small cubic inch Modular Ford that we built for a restrictive WCF class with much smaller turbos and it is crazy to think that it is now running ETs near the territory of our XDR program from back then... Different car. Different rules. Same expectations. FYR didn’t recently learn how to run at the front. Some people just have short memories. 2010 Camaro SS L99 low-mileage DOD delete and Stage 2 cam package we did a few weeks ago. Customer was worried about the DOD system so we removed the factory DOD hardware and upgraded the valvetrain with a Stage 2 camshaft, valve springs, retainers, pushrods, upgraded timing chain, and a high-volume oil pump, along with all the supporting components needed to put the combination together. After assembly, the Camaro was #fyrtuned on our Dynocom hub dyno putting down 421 Rwhp, 405 Rwtq on 91 octane. #fyritupsolutions #fyrsolutions #fyrbuilt #l99camaro by @fyritupsolutions
