يُقدم معرض “لغة الأثر” مختارات من الأعمال الفوتوغرافية التي أُنجزت خلال “برنامج الإقامة الفنية في تصوير: حين تتكشف الصورة - لغة الأثر”. واستنادًا إلى مفهوم “الأثر” في اللغة العربية بما يحمله من معاني البصمات والعلامات المتروكة، دعا برنامج الإقامة الفنية المصورين إلى استكشاف مجال صناعة الصورة بوصفه وسيلةً للتوثيق ومساحةً لإعادة التخيّل.
تَبَلْوَرَت الأعمال الفنية لثلاثة من الفنانين على مدى خمسة أشهر في بيت الوكرة، لتعكس مسارًا إبداعيًا تشكّل عبر البحث والتجريب والتوجيه الفني، إلى جانب الحوارات المستمرة والتبادل النقدي. ويتناول كل مشروعٍ مفهوم “الأثر” بوصفه استعارةً ومنهجية في آنٍ واحد، مُتتبعًا بصمات شخصية وثقافية وبصرية.

The Language of Athar presents a selection of photographic works developed during the Tasweer Residency: As the Image Unfolds: The Language of Athar. Rooted in the concept of athar—an Arabic word meaning traces and imprints—the residency invited photographers to explore image-making as both a method of recording and a space for reimagining.

Developed over five months at Bayt Al Wakra, the works of three artists reflect a process shaped through research, experimentation, mentorship, ongoing dialogue, and critical exchange. Each body of work engages with athar as both metaphor and methodology, tracing personal, cultural, and visual imprints.

Mentored by Ghayyan Al Amine, Khalifa Al Obaidly, and Maria Ovsyannikova | Curated by Ghayyan Al Amine and Maria Ovsyannikova.

نقدم لكم المجموعة الأولى من الفنانين المشاركين في برنامج الإقامة الفنية في تصوير.

على مدى خمسة أشهر، عكف كل من محمد فخرو وغادة المولوي ورجاء أدردور على إبداع مشاريع فوتوغرافية جديدة ضمن النسخة الافتتاحية من برنامج الإقامة الفنية في تصوير: حين تتكشف الصورة - لغة الأثر.

يجمع البرنامج، الذي يتخذ من استوديوهات تصوير في بيت الوكرة مقرًا له، صنّاع الصورة من داخل منظومة المهرجان لاستكشاف عالم التصوير الفوتوغرافي بوصفه وسيلةً للتوثيق وعملًا لإعادة تصوّر الواقع في آنٍ واحد من خلال الإرشاد، والتبادل النقدي، والمشاركة المجتمعية.

ينطلق المعرض في خريف هذا العام.

Introducing the first cohort of Tasweer Residents.

Over five months, Mohammed Fakhroo, Ghada Al Mawlawi, and Raja Aderdor have been developing new photographic projects as part of the inaugural Tasweer Residency: As the Image Unfolds — The Language of Athar.

Based at Tasweer Studios, Bayt Al Wakrah, the residency brings together image makers from within the Tasweer ecosystem to explore photography as both record and reimagining through mentorship, critical exchange, and community engagement.

بالنسبة لغادة، الاستوديو ليس مجرد مساحة عمل، بل هو محراب للتركيز؛ حيث تتحول الأشياء الساكنة إلى بورتريهات عميقة ومليئة بالتفاصيل من خلال لغة تواصل وجداني مع عناصرها. وبعيداً عن أضواء الاستوديو، ينبض قلب غادة باللحظات العفوية؛ حيث توثق في أعمالها الوثائقية تفاصيل الحياة اليومية، وتؤرشف الذكريات الشخصية والجماعية التي تعكس هويتها وتجاربها الخاصة.

Photography has been an unfolding journey for me and has grown into a true passion. I didn’t have a clear path when I began, but I knew that I love preserving memories. 17 years later, I’m still not exactly sure where my photography journey will take me but I know that I find joy in the emotions and memories each picture captures. by @g.nasser
