Day 9: No Plot, Just a Song

Didn’t have much of an eventful day other than rehearsal and filming auditions. So instead, I filmed a song and I’m hoping it makes up for no vlog 😬

Really been loving this song lately and I’ve been working on it to add it to the audition book! Needs some polishing but it’s got a good shape I think lol

Tune in for tomorrow’s vlog when I go to a cabaret to see some friends sing DOWN! 🎶

Until next time! ✌🏽

Missing you dearly Ric

From our first conversation you poured your heart into me and I will forever be grateful for all your words of wisdom and love that you shared. You’re my brother forever, and I will always cherish the parts we played in each other’s lives. Your love knew no bounds.

I’m grateful the last thing I got to tell you was how much I love you. You were loved by so many and I hope you know you left a beautiful mark on this earth.

Every time I have a delicious meal, experience a beautiful piece of art, or sip on a lime cucumber Gatorade, I’ll think of you. I know you’ll have an ice cold one waiting for me when we meet again.

I’ll love you always Ric by @g_emir9

Dr. Smile: A New Musical

What an incredible privilege it’s been to be part of such a remarkable piece of art. From the very beginning, this project felt like something special. A beautiful and necessary true story to tell based on the life and work of Dr. Valli Meeks, whose compassion and groundbreaking approach to dental care revolutionized treatment for members of the HIV/AIDS community.

Getting to portray Jon Eikenberg was a gift. As an award-winning Baltimore artist, Jon used his artwork to bring visibility, humor, honesty, and humanity to conversations surrounding HIV/AIDS and the LGBTQIA+ community at a time when so many voices were being overlooked. His work, “The Endearing End of Emmett”, touched countless lives, offering dignity to those who needed it the most. Carrying his legacy onstage each night was both humbling and inspiring, reminding me of the profound impact art can have on the world around us.

My deepest gratitude goes to the remarkable cast, crew, creative team, musicians, and designers who brought this world to life. Thank you for your passion, and commitment to telling this story with care. It takes a village to build a new musical, and I am endlessly grateful to have shared this journey with all of you.

Thank you, Dr. Smile, for reminding the world that kindness can be revolutionary, that representation matters, and that stories have the power to change hearts long after the curtain falls.

Until the next one 🤍
