an art collaboration I did with Rangga Purnama Aji in 2022 is now in the collection of the Madison Museum of Art and Technology in Wisconsin 🇺🇸

the Madison Museum of Art and Technology is a digital art museum focused on the intersection of art and technology, based in Madison, Wisconsin. They opened their doors in 2025 and have been building a collection of generative, code-based, and new media works ever since.

the work is called KAKOFONI ORQUESTRA. the composition is based on the way Brian Eno worked on Ambient 1: Music for Airports — loops recorded in complementary pairs, each pair designed so the timbre and dynamics of one complements the other. it's a piece meant to be sat with.

I wrote an article about the process on fxhash, going deeper into how the loops were arranged, how Hydra maps the audio FFT into colors, and how the visual modulation was built on top of Rangga's textures.

Rangga brought the textures and the initial visual concept. the visual side runs on Hydra, an open-source live-coding environment for building visuals directly in the browser. you write code, see the result immediately, plug the audio into the FFT and make the visuals react to the sound in real time. it's one of the most direct tools I know for making generative art in code — I've been working with it since 2021.

it was really good building this together. thanks, ranga 🙏 by @gab_worm

I present to you the result of my 2 years in the Re:Anima program.

🎥This Feminine Side

Set in Lisbon’s vibrant LGBTQ+ art scene, this animated documentary layers voices, textures, and colours to explore femininity beyond the binary. Built through interviews and collaborative workshops, the film becomes a living collage— where femininity is not fixed, but fluid, reimagined through community, creativity, and playful mixed-media animation.

So thankful to everyone who collaborated and participated, the Lisbon community is truly something special ❤️‍🔥
