My Journey To Everest Base Camp:

Last year, I received an invitation to dream. And I’m ever grateful to both have received it and to have taken it.

Visiting the highest mountains on Earth hadn’t been a dream of mine until then. Perhaps because I didn’t know it was within my reach. What made it possible was the unexpected invitation came with gear and financial support, both from @nativewomenswilderness partner brands and from the community. All I had to do was show up and take step after step up the Himalayas.

So I did.

Happily skunked, for a humbling first fly fishing sess of the season 🫣

I didn’t realize how much I was missing being in the water.

Other than my sore arm from casting 🫣 I’m always amazed at how all the skills come back as if I hadn’t taken a break.

No adventure goes without necessary reminders of the importance of Leave No Trace. This river flows next to a campground, so anything from trash left behind at campsites to trash blowing on the road ends up in the river 🫩.

On a good note, I got to try out the @AstralDesigns Pusha™ boot for the first time, and so far so stoked at a grippy, secure, yet light wet wading shoe 🙃. Stay tuned for long-term notes 🤗

In 2023, the federal government established a 20-year withdrawal protecting approximately 336,404 acres of public lands surrounding Chaco Culture National Historical Park from new oil, gas, and mineral leasing.

Now, the Bureau of Land Management is considering reversing those protections.

The agency’s draft environmental assessment outlines three options:

• Keep the current 10-mile protection zone

• Remove the withdrawal entirely

• Reduce the protected buffer to 5 miles

The proposal has drawn responses from Tribal governments, conservation organizations, and public lands advocates.

According to @nativenewsonline the Pueblo of Acoma says the current review process is moving much more quickly than the years-long process that created the protections, while the Department of the Interior says it is seeking public input as part of its environmental review.

Chaco Culture National Historical Park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and part of a broader cultural landscape that holds deep significance for many Indigenous Nations.

🗓 Public comments are being accepted through July 29, 2026.

About the second time I attempted bikepacking…

“She’s my first mountain bike; she makes noises, she’s clunky, and I’m so scared all the time. But with Roberto’s support, I push through.

That summer, an uninvited but familiar lower back injury pays me a visit. As I recover, standing up is painful, sitting is painful, and my movements feel stiff. But getting on the bike, I feel ok; my back doesn’t scream, and my body enjoys the repetitive movement and, surprisingly, the posture. Roberto starts training for long-distance bikepacking. I know I don’t have the will or skill to do something like what he’s up to, but I’m officially curious to try bikepacking again.”

⚠️Adventure Rig for Sale ⚠️ Are you the next adventure buddy(s) for our beloved rig?

This 2019 @fourwheelcampers Fleet and their og matching sidekick, a 2017 @toyota Tacoma are looking to serve a new adventurer(s)🥹

All these years we thought we would be together forever, but as we grew and changed, so have our habits, dreams, and needs. And this rig has been mostly sedentary for about a year now, which is no fair life to the likes of them 🫶🏽

No regrets on the many memories along ~177k miles of roads from the crown jewel of the Rockies in Glacier, to the beaches of Vallarta and back. I know this rig will make someone, or many ones, very happy in plenty future adventures. Mechanically, our shop peeps will tell you THEY want it 😅

The biggest pros of this combo:
🐭Truck Camper has NEVER been infiltrated by rodents.
⚡️Size makes this an easy rig for travel on a diversity of roads, fitting in most indoor parking lots, making it easy to find camping.
💤 You can sleep on the rollout bed without popping up the camper, perfect for in-town stealth mode. Have slept with 2 people this way! Tight but effective 🤗

Some considerations:
🏝️Best suited for weekend adventures or ocassional long term travel. Folks do live out of these FT but it’s not for everyone.
🪩 People will stop you to ask about your rig, cause dream rig.
🍃You won’t regret popping up camp in 1min and waking up to the sounds of nature, ever.
💨The wind will make it feel like you are sailing AND you’ll be surprised the strong winds this rig withstands.

POV: You have the perfect bike makeover getaway in Salida 😮

1️⃣ First, we hit up Tyler at @absolute_bikes_co for a basic bike fit.

Just trying a variety of saddles makes this experience super worth it. BUT I honestly couldn’t believe how much more comfortable I could feel on my bike, or that I wouldn’t need to suck up any discomfort at all to ride 🥹. Everything on my bike was adjusted, and it was needed.

2️⃣ Then, we had to test our new bike fits, so we hit the local trails 💚. I felt proud to lead us through a new-to-me single track. And for the first time, I experienced no after-ride bum pain 🥰

3️⃣ And I was not mad to see all the investment in infrastructure this area has. Signage is goals 🫶🏽 especially when it reminds us of our shared responsibility on the lands via @leavenotraceorg ⚡️

4️⃣ Last, I had to make a pit stop @ovejanegrabikepacking for a much-needed upgrade to my bikepacking gear. As always, the staff there was super welcoming and helpful. I even got to find the bags that worked on my bike in colors I love 🤩

5️⃣ Now I’ve been pedaling on this new setup for a few weeks and can report zero riding discomfort, no numb feet, no saddle soreness, enhanced confidence while riding (but like BY A LOT), and so much more on-bike storage that I no longer need to carry a backpack on day rides.

Feeling extra grateful for the people and brands making my rides more enjoyable. ❤️
