I had the opportunity to spend the last week in Tryon, North Carolina for the IHSA National Championship. What a way to close out the season!

Our team finished 3rd in the nation. I was honored to ride and represent Black Hawk for the team in Open Horsemanship and Reining, and to compete individually in Level 2 Ranch Riding and Horsemanship.

Friday brought a pretty special moment earning Reserve National Champion in Ranch Riding, along with an 7th place finish in Open Team Reining. Sunday, I was lucky enough to come back and earn Reserve National Champion again in Level 2 Horsemanship, and 8th place finish in Open Team Horsemanship.

Beyond grateful for my support system and the people along the way💛 Couldn’t have done it without you guys. #BHEPROUD taken in Tryon International Equestrian Center by @gabby__olson

To the best decision I have ever made, This easily has been the best 2yrs of my life. No words can express my feelings about Black Hawk East. From the moment of stepping foot on campus, I knew this was going to be home. I found a community that felt like family, and people that felt like home. I found my passion with a purpose. With the many hours of practice, many miles traveled across the country. I had the honor to be surrounded by the best teammates and coaches. Where we accomplished something extremely special.

25’ National Champion IHSA Team
25’ NACTA Sweepstakes Champion
24’ National Champion Horse Judging Team

The list truly goes on. It still doesn’t feel real.

BHE, you didn’t just give me a wonderful education. You gave me more than that. The people surrounding me. My life long friends, professors, community members, you have shaped me into who I am today. I will forever cherish these connections and always carry this chapter with me. Forever grateful. Thank you Black Hawk🖤💛 #bheproud taken in Black Hawk College East Campus by @gabby__olson
