Anyone who knows me, knows Madison. She’s my best friend, cousin, and other half for my entire 2 decades of life. And in those 20 years, she has always stood by my side. Whether it has been sitting in time-out next to me for something only I got us into, or giving me her old clothes that she didn’t want anymore, I could always count on her.

I’ve never had to ask her to be a good friend, put herself in my shoes, or show up for me. Because she always did without me having to ask.

A lot of things about getting older together have been so incredibly fun. Moving into apartments just 3 minutes away from each other, going to get coffee whenever we wanted, or going out to the occasional bar… it’s all been so fun next to her. But life isn’t always easy, and it certainly isn’t always fun. Thankfully for me, I’ve never had to face any of those days without her, because her friendship is kind, generous, and entirely unwavering. And to me, it’s absolutely irreplaceable. I’ve always known that having Madison in my corner was a huge honor, but to get to see her be her same incredible self in her career, in her relationship, and in life as a whole is a gift I can’t even begin to explain. Madison, it is a privilege to get to know and love you. It is a privilege to get to watch you be the person you are.

“Proud” doesn’t scratch the surface.

Cheers to 1,500 🥂

I’ve thought all day about a post and what I should say for my final thoughts of cosmo school, but really, not a lot has come to me. All I can think about is how grateful I am. How grateful I am for the girls in my class who quickly became my family when a new city felt so lonely. Grateful for a boyfriend who moved to a new city to support me in my dreams, and who held me together through the long hours and busy weeks. Grateful for a family who has had unwavering faith in me and continued to remind me that it would all be worth it. Grateful for a salon team who has welcomed me with open arms and who loves me for exactly who I am. And so incredibly grateful for everyone who has sat in my chair and believed in me for the last 10 months.

I’m so grateful.
