Hidden away in a green idyll at the back of Kemptown, we had a glorious evening of old time folk @at_the_coach_house with my ace friend @rutheliza_ (claw hammer banjo) playing from her new album, While The Light Shines, with Matthew Ord (guitar) and Tom Kimber (mandolin); supported by Ducks on the Millpond.
Gorgeous and unique tunes and songs each with their own keenly-felt, unfurling story.

Then more tunes in the pub later…What a night! by @gabbybig

Liminal loveliness from partial solar eclipse evening - @sussexsurplus saving food from going to waste creating a delicious, vegetarian meal @stanmerorganics @brightonpermaculture at the woodedly wonderful Earthship (I finally made it after 8 years!) @forkanddigit for the growing tour - thank you!!

PS Herbs at the end are borage (those starry, blue flowers and cucumber flavours, swoon!), spearmint (pretty sure but there are so many varieties), and marjoram. So yummy…

Then later on up to Devil’s Dyke for the Pleiades meteor shower. My cup of wonder is very much filled! by @gabbybig

Dorfest 2026 delivered!

A weekend stuffed to the gills with unforgettable experiences and relationships (most of which I’ve not recorded of course, ha)….With sea, sauna (host extraordinaire @saorlaw.art ), people (the inimitable NoTanx crew - many missed, but next year!) pasties, pubs, pipits, gulls (naturally) and soooo much more.

….And now the UV light session (sorry sea friends)!

Frankly brazen (and huge) strawberry anemones, beadlet anemones prepping for the rockpool rave, an unconfident shore crab and some understandably miffed common translucent shrimp (the self-removal, ‘poing’ at the end is quite something).
