With the World Cup Final here today, this week feels even more special.

This week in Newark, my mom fulfilled her lifelong dream of seeing Shakira, the Queen of Latin music, live. Shakira’s music filled our home on Saturday mornings, at family parties, y más. Sharing that moment with mi mamá is a memory I’ll cherish forever.

Shakira, you had 20,000 people on their feet dancing cumbia, salsa y más. Gracias for the joy, the memories, and for making generations of Latinos proud. Waka Waka y Dai Dai. Qué noche. ❤️⚽🇨🇴🇲🇽🇺🇸 #worldcup #shakira #mundial2026 taken in Prudential Center by @gabe_drobny

Honored to have celebrated Mayor Richard M. Daley alongside Chairman John P. Daley, Alderwoman Nicole Lee, and the 11th Ward community.

Bridgeport is where my family’s American dream began. Growing up hearing stories about the neighborhood from my grandmother who raised me, it means a lot to come back and honor a community that means so much to my family.

Chicago is the city it is because people devoted their lives to building it — and few families shaped that story more than the Daleys. 🇺🇸 taken in Morgan Arts Complex by @gabe_drobny

Thank you, Reverend Jesse Jackson.
@revjjackson @rainbowpush

“Run, Jesse, Run” wasn’t just a chant — it was a declaration of possibility. You expanded American democracy, mobilized new voters, and helped build the coalition that reshaped our politics. In Chicago, you stood alongside Mayor Harold Washington as history was made. You made millions feel seen and worthy of the American promise.

You have been my father’s hero for as long as I can remember. I was raised on the lessons of your life — faith, courage, and the responsibility to lift others as we climb. Those teachings shaped our home. They shaped me.

Through the Rainbow PUSH Coalition, your legacy of dignity and justice will endure.

You represented Chicago with heart and conviction.

My deepest respect and prayers to the Jackson family.
Rest in power, Reverend Jackson. 🕊️💙🕊️💙 by @gabe_drobny

As the year closes, nothing but gratitude. For the people who took the late calls, opened doors, gave real advice, and stood in it with me, thank you. I don’t forget who showed up.

From my beloved 11th Ward of Chicago to Little Rock, Queens, and Northern Virginia, long road trips, long days, and longer nights. Knocking doors, listening to voters, earning trust the only way you can, by showing up and doing the work, over and over again.

Proud of the journey. What a ride! Grateful for the people. Ready for what’s next! 🎉 🎊 by @gabe_drobny
