Hello Friends,

Today I released a new song called “Silent Serenade.” Listen at the link in my bio.

This is the first release in a series of songs I wrote and produced with my friend, singer-songwriter Oliver Wood. This past May, I joined Oliver, drummer Mark Raudabaugh, bassist Rhees Williams, and engineer extraordinaire Brook Sutton at the Wood Brothers’ Studio in Nashville to record a few songs.

“Silent Serenade” is about love and devotion and how sometimes our actions sing the love song better than the love song itself. Which sounds kind of “meta,” since this is a love song, but I digress…

I love this one, and I hope you do too.

CREDITS:

Silent Serenade
(written by Gabe Dixon and Oliver Wood)

Gabe Dixon: lead vocals, background vocals, Wurlitzer electric piano, Clavinet, Mellotron
Mark Raudabaugh: drums, percussion
Rhees Williams: bass
Brook Sutton: recording engineer
Will Tyson: assistant engineer

Produced by Gabe Dixon and Oliver Wood
Mixed by Brook Sutton
Mastered by Eric Conn at Independent Mastering
Recorded at The Studio Nashville by @gabedixon

July, I hardly knew ya. For an “off” month, I gotta say, it felt pretty “on,” in the best way.
I hope everyone’s having a nice summer.

1) Songwriter round in Greenville, SC at The Mockingbird with Lucie Silvas and Maia Sharp
2) A Bluebird Cafe round at 3rd and Lindsley with my pals Dylan Altman and Marshall Altman
3) Finished the last overdubs on my new recordings with a one-man trombone choir, featuring Roy Agee
4) Recorded with Dustin Ransom and The Neighbors
5) Had a lovely beach vacation with the family
6) And July 31st was night 1 at Red Rocks with Tedeschi Trucks Band

Lots of love. -Gabe by @gabedixon

For those not in Nashville, @getonvolume will host a Livestream of this Saturday’s show at @3rdandlindsley — I’ll donate half the proceeds to an organization dear to my heart, the Tennessee Environmental Council.

The @tectnorg is a statewide nonprofit dedicated to protecting Tennessee’s natural resources through tree planting, watershed restoration, recycling initiatives, and community-based conservation programs. Their work is helping build a greener, more sustainable future for Tennessee. by @gabedixon
