As I think about my time in college, there were many adventures, relationships, and new discoveries that I made that all formed me into the person that I am today. This is not to say, however, my time in school was without trial. There were many hardships, many doubts, and even overwhelming moments that made it hard to push on. I have a poor tendency to put my value in things that don’t really matter: a career, relationships, being the guy everyone wants to talk to, and so on. And as I pursued these things, I was always left empty, even when I had everything that I thought I wanted. I’m learning that these things, as great as they may be, do not actually have the ability to satisfy. Again, and again, and again, I have found myself lost.

At my lowest moments, however, I find refuge in the One who loves me more than them all…

My relationship with Jesus has completely transformed my life. He has a history of making something out of nothing, I am one of these stories. My transformation from fearful to joyful, from self-conscious to others-conscious, God has the power to completely transform and renew what was broken.

If ever I am asked of my greatest feat or accomplishment, my response will be my relationship with Christ.

Went to LA for the @blackvoicesmvmt intensive. Crazy how those 3 days will probably determine the next 30 years of my life. I learned what it actually means to be a man, what God’s original design for me was, and to learn to embrace it.
