As it happens, put me in anything that resembles black robes and I’ll be dusting off my lightsabers and becoming the Sith I was foreseen to have become.

Oh, and also I graduated.

Congrats to me, myself, and I, I guess. by @gabejshaw_thefirst

Presenting GabeBot V: NEMESIS.

The majority of this robot's CAD was completed in the couple days leading up to the start of school back in August, minus the elevator. The elevator I dragged my feet on, until it was finally completed today.

So far, this is my favorite GabeBot to date, and I am rather proud of it. by @gabejshaw_thefirst

I’ve been told that these are senior photos. This statement is factually a true statement, as is it a statement, and given that they are photos depicting a senior. by @gabejshaw_thefirst

Began work on GabeBot V. Block CAD is basically finished for it. I wanted to put in effort to have really detailed Block CAD, similar to 3005's aproach to their "high-fidelity block CAD".

This took me only a couple of hours.

GB5 is meant to play the 2024 FRC game Crescendo. Its design was inspired by a concept I drew for my team that year. The top is also inspired by FRC 5940 BREAD's 2024 robot, and the intake by FRC 3005 RoboCharger's 2024 robot.

This design features:
 - Swerve drive (duh).
 - Double-sided ground intake.
 - Elevator.
 - Pivot.
 - Indexer & shooter.

This robot will be able to intake from the ground on both sides, score in both the speaker and the amp, as well as climb & trap.

Hopefully I can have GB5 finished in the next couple weeks. by @gabejshaw_thefirst

9 weeks in California and 140 packets of cheese on the RA's doors later, I returned to home from Stanford University yesterday. It was probably the best summer experience that I could ask for. I'm going to miss the campus and college life a whole light, but am ready and excited to get back to my senior year nonetheless. by @gabejshaw_thefirst

I looked at FRC 1323's differential wrist from 2025, and thought to myself, "I could probably do that!" This was the result.

Some of the bevel gears were taken from a CAD model I refferenced on CheifDelphi. The claw at the end was modeled to intake the cones from the 2023 FRC game Charged Up. (I also wanted to learn how to do complex belts, so I used those, too.) I don't like the giant triangular base plates. They're as big as they are to allow for my team (were they to build this) to test it on a table, and have it sit upright. Were this intended for a specific robot design architecture, I would definietely revamp those plates, and make them (as well as the overall motor and gearbox setup) a whole lot more compact.

Unless I'm making a design like MadTown, I don't see this particular design as particularly practical. Instead, I would use something more akin to 27's 2025 robot arm setup.
