Happy birthday to the most loving, genuine, God fearing man I’ve ever met. Heaven is the most perfect place to celebrate.

I don’t have words to express how much I’ve missed your giant bear hugs and never ending dad jokes. You always knew exactly what to say to cheer me up, and never let me go to bed without telling me how proud you were. You were the light in a very, very dark world, and you left everyone around you smiling with a simple interaction, no matter how small. You invited every person you ever encountered to follow you on your walk to eternity, and couldn’t stand leaving a single person behind. Your love for people you didn’t even know shown through you brighter than the sun. No matter what the world threw at you, you went through it smiling, proving to everyone that the Lord is greater than any amount of pain one could ever experience.

Your genuine faith and boldness to proclaim it will forever be my most favorite thing about you. You always knew exactly what to say, and never let a conversation fade without giving someone a chance to know Jesus. You didn’t deserve the way you were taken, but you deserve every ounce peace you have now. We weren’t ready to lose you, but heaven was ready to welcome you in. Now you’re home, and one day we’ll understand everything we can’t right now.

I love you Daddy, forever and ever. There’s not a day, an hour, or even a second that goes by where you’re not on my mind. I don’t know how to move forward and go through life without you by my side. You held me still when life felt like a rollercoaster, even if you were dealing with struggles of your own. You were my pause in a world that wouldn’t slow down, and a safe space for all who knew you. I promise to perfect every dance move you ever taught me, so that someday we can dance in the presence of our Jesus. I can’t wait to see you on the other side.
