we see this catastrophies more and more on a daily basis - patients under anti-resorptive therapy develop massive necrosis of the jaw. When the study came out 2020 I was shocked and honestly deeply irritated because the data looked reliable. After reevaluation i am shocked and beyond angry. I was always a strong and loud critic of scientific data which could easily be manipulated, but no manipulation before has done a damage of this extent in this dangerous for politically heated times we are living in. I deeply hope that the so-called scientists responsible for this understand what they did and will be held accountable by the professional community, including journals and conferences.
The older I get the more I know how little I know …
The more I see the more humble I get with those so-called “100% truth s”
That’s why my two favorite quotes are :
by prof ioannidis from stanford “ white most published research scientific findings are false”
and
by late Charles Burwell of Harvard “ half of what we are going to teach you is wrong and half of it is right. Our problem is that we don’t know which half is which”

But the study mentioned here has nothing to do with incertenty or not knowing - it’s clearly the ignorance of data being on an agenda and finding proof for something whats a blatant lie - and racism. There is no bigger example of amoral behavior. thanks for the #economist and the honest scientific community, demasking and uncovering it. by @gabor.tepper

it’s easy to show a beautiful case, which was finished yesterday - I started thinking about how to avoid risky, painful and expensive sinus lifting about 25 years ago and every day these cases come back for recall. This patient was treated 15 years ago and she couldn’t be happier - she has referred a huge number of her friends in these years to my office. It is very fulfilling to know how much better the lives of these patients are today and how healthy their maxillary sinuses are because i left them the way they were created by nature : free of the pulverized dead cow …
