akhir-akhir ini aku banyak belajar tentang arti kebaikan Tuhan Yesus.

kalau aku melihat kembali perjalanan hidupku, ada begitu banyak hal yang dulu ga aku mengerti, tapi sekarang bisa aku lihat sebagai bagian dari cara Tuhan memeliharaku. dan kalau ada satu hal yang bisa kubanggakan dari hidupku, itu bukan tentang siapa diriku atau apa yang sudah aku capai, melainkan betapa baiknya Tuhan Yesus kepadaku!

sampai hari ini pun masih banyak hal yang belum aku mengerti. ada banyak hal yang masih aku doakan, langkah-langkah yang belum aku tahu harus kuambil, dan arah yang belum sepenuhnya jelas buatku. tapi kalau selama ini Tuhan sudah begitu baik dan setia memelihara hidupku, aku mau belajar untuk percaya bahwa aku ga harus mengetahui semuanya sekarang. aku hanya perlu terus berjalan bersama Yesus, satu langkah demi satu langkah.

aku tau hidupku memang jauh dari sempurna, dan masih banyak hal yang sedang aku pelajari. but through it all, God has been so soooo good to me. and i have every reason to trust Him with whatever comes next. 😊❤️

today it’s just me and my brother @diegohermonn , but we’re already thinking about getting the rest of the Hermons involved too. ◡̈

welcome to the victoria chapter! ✈️✨ this was my first time ever in victoria, and after landing in melbourne, we headed straight to healesville. i didn’t really know what to expect, but i ended up loving our time here 🤍

we spent time exploring the yarra valley (which, let’s be honest, was mostly for the cheese and chocolate 🧀🍫 so so so good!!!), visited healesville sanctuary and saw animals i’ve never seen in indonesia before (like the blue-billed duck! they were super cute!), and got to catch up with our healesville family whom we hadn’t seen since before covid. that alone made this stop feel really special!

i won’t lie, the cold weather took some getting used to. after queensland, i was definitely underprepared lol. but despite constantly needing an extra layer, i really loved it here. the scenery, the fresh air, the countryside feel, and just how different it was from everywhere else we’d been on the trip.

also, a very important announcement: i LOVE snack packs. like, genuinely love them. and healesville gave me the best snack pack i’ve ever had in my entire life. i’m not exaggerating. best one EVER. i still think about it. i would literally recommend people visit just for that HAHAHA.

for my first time in victoria, healesville was such a special place to start. definitely coming back one day 🫶🏼

welcome back to another episode of michele misses queensland (and tbh, i don’t think i’ll ever stop missing qld until i’m there again. which, prayerfully, will be very soon 👀)

you know that feeling when you visit a new city and instantly fall in love with it? yeah… that was me with brisbane 🥹💌 i genuinely did not expect to love this city as much as i did. we only stayed for 2 nights, but somehow that was all it took for me to think, “oh no… i really like it here.” we spent our day walking around the cbd, the botanical garden, south bank, and basically everywhere in between. according to my record, we did more than 20,000 steps in a day, and guess who decided to wear flat shoes? ME 😭 can you imagine the pain?! in my defence, i had planned the day very differently and my feet were not supposed to suffer like that HAHAHA, but it is what it is. honestly though, every sore step was worth it.

i LOVE LOVE LOVE brissie. there’s just something about this city. the atmosphere, the river, the parks, the people, the balance between city life and nature…UGH i think ya girl belongs here. also, can we talk about the fact that i was literally eating dinner under the iconic story bridge of brisbane??? like WHAT. one minute i’m seeing these places online and the next i’m actually there. and now i’m here (still) wishing we had stayed longer. anyway, if you ever get the chance to visit brisbane, do it, seriously!! i’d recommend it in a heartbeat. i’d probably live here if i could lol. and one thing’s for sure: i will definitely be back. who knows, maybe one day i’ll be a queenslander 😋 up the maroons hahah!!! 🫶🏼

a little late birthday post… 💌

when i was a kid, i used to dream about celebrating my birthday in australia one day. not just visiting australia, but actually spending my birthday here. it was one of those little dreams that felt so far away that i never really thought much about how it would happen. i’ve been to australia before, but somehow never for my birthday. so standing here at 25 feels a little surreal. what amazes me most is that i had forgotten about this dream years ago. somehow God hadn’t. 🥹

so yeah… the big 25!!!

this birthday looked a lot different from what i could have imagined. celebrating with just the four of us, my dad, my mom, my brother, and me. walking through darling harbour, watching the lights of vivid sydney, seeing the Sydney Opera House come alive with colour, taking in the harbour bridge views, and finding beauty in the city even when the rain wouldn’t stop falling.

somewhere between the lights, the rain, the laughter, and the views, i found myself thinking about that little girl who once dreamed of celebrating her birthday in this beautiful city. not because sydney or australia was the goal, but because it became another reminder that God is able to write stories bigger than the ones we write for ourselves. more than anything, i found myself thanking the Author Himself.

looking back, it’s never hard to see His faithfulness woven through every season of my life. in the prayers He answered, the doors He opened, the doors He closed for my good, the people He brought into my life, and the countless ways He has carried me through the years. there are far more than 25 things to thank Him for.

and to everyone who took the time to pray for me, send a message, write a kind note, call, celebrate, or simply think of me on my birthday, thank you. i felt so loved, encouraged, and blessed by each and every one of you. your prayers and kindness mean more than you know. p.s. i’m still accepting birthday messages lol 🫶🏼

25 years later, if my life says anything, i hope it says this: God is good, and God is faithful. if He can do it for me, He can do it for you.❤️ #thankYouJesus taken in Sydney by @gabrielamichermon

part 2 of me slowly falling in love with queensland 🫶🏼 surfers paradise + movieworld, beach days, and some VERY windy nights but still refusing to go home just because lol (wind was literally fighting me for my life btw). crazy that i used to see this online and now i’m actually here! the weather was so nice it felt so good, and the beach was wonderful (yeah we swam. it was freezing tho🥶!!!). waking up & sleeping with a beach view is a dream come true 🤍 (don’t wake me up, i’ve peaked). ugh gold coast… i wasn’t ready for how much i’d like you!!

such a fun week 🥹 missing it already and i haven’t even left. i’ll be back someday for sure!!!

north lakes was a really beautiful and soft start to this trip 💙 first stop, first “wait i’m actually in australia!? 🥹” moment, and me immediately acting like i live here already even though i was still confused about where everything was HAHAHA. everything felt new, a little unreal, and i was just taking it all in. it also became something a bit more special because we got to meet our family friends again after not seeing them since 2019!! i just knew God was in every little beginning of this trip! :) so so grateful.
