Birthday Prayer 🙏🏽

Mighty God, would You help us see You rightly.
Let us just catch a glimpse of who You really are.
Let it bring full satisfaction, freedom, joy, peace, patience, wisdom, and humility.
Let it light up the dark places in our sphere of influence.
Let it usher us into a life of purpose and vitality.

God, help us to stop wasting our lives.
Empower us to point others to Your glory, which saves and satisfies the soul, rather than to our own, which profits no one.

Jesus, help us to see that nothing compares to a life surrendered to You, that there is fullness of joy in Your presence,
that there is forgiveness for sin,
that with You, we are like trees planted by streams of water,
always prosperous and without fear of the future.

Show us Your glory, God.

“It’s been said that you’ll spend the majority of your life knowing your children as adults…
But for a brief moment—a blink, really—you get to know them as children.

And in that blink, you carry them on your hip.
You hear their tiny voice call your name.
You zip up their coat while they squirm and giggle.
You watch them sleep, stuffed toy tucked under one arm.

You are their whole world.
And they?
They are the wonder of yours.

But that moment… it’s gone in a breath.

They grow taller.
Their questions get deeper.
Their hands slip out of yours a little more each day.

And one day, you realize—you’re no longer packing lunch boxes and stepping over toys.
You’re sitting across from them at the table, hearing about heartbreaks and job interviews.

Still your child…
But no longer the small soul who needed you to kiss every bump and scare away every monster.

So if you’re tired—bone-tired from the noise, the mess, the constant—know this:

You’re living in the blink.
The sacred, precious blink.

Don’t rush it.
Hold the cuddle.
Say yes to one more bedtime story.
Let them be small for as long as they are.

Because the world will have them soon enough.
But right now, right now… they are yours.

And what a beautiful, fleeting gift that is.”
