This year was my first time visiting Kefalonia and it was quickly added to my list of favorite places in Greece! This island has both mountains and gorgeous beaches making for amazing views.

Getting to Kefalonia 🚢 Small international airport or ferry from the mainland or nearby islands

Getting around the Island 🚙 There is a small bus system but it is inconsistent and only goes to select locations. The best way to get around is with a car. One can be rented on the island or on the mainland if you are taking a ferry over.

Nothing like using a concert as an excuse for a trip 🎸✈️ We went down the shore to Atlantic City NJ, for the Yungblud concert at Hard Rock Casino. All I can say is that I was really just living my best life!

My sister Arianna and I competed at the 2026 NAIGC Nationals in Birmingham, Alabama. Of course because it’s me I couldn’t travel all the way down to Alabama without making a trip out of it. We went for 5 days driving down Tuesday day night, competing on Friday, and driving back Sunday.

Things to do in Birmingham:
🖼️Vulcan Park and Museum - great views of Birmingham from the top! Has stairs and an elevator
⚖️Birmingham Civil Rights Institute
🛹City Walk BHAM - Skate Park, Roller rink, Gardens, Community events, and more!
⛲️5 Points South Fountain
🏙️“Heaviest Corner in the South”
🚂 Railroad Park Foundation
🌹 Birmingham Botanical Gardens
🏍️ Barber Vintage Motorsports Collection
🥾 Red Mountain Park - great hiking spot

Within an hour of Birmingham:
🪨Majestic Caverns - one of Alabamas 25 caves. This is also one of three caves that is wheelchair accessible
🏞️Noccalula Falls - Super cool waterfall w/ trail going behind the falls

Food & Drinks:
🍹House if Found Objects - such a fun and whimsical spot for drinks! They have different themed booths and a ton of games to play while you enjoy a drink off there creative cocktail menu
☕️ Pink Lantern - Day time cafe with fun coffee/ drink options, and a night time cocktail bar

Lake Placid Weekend Trip ❄️🎿🌲

We ended up leaving late Thursday night and arrived in Lake Placid early Friday morning. We spent our first day exploring the Olympic village of Lake Placid and learning about its history. We had breakfast at ☕️ Origin Coffee Co, visited the 🦝 Olympic Museum, wondered the📍 Olympic Village, admired ❄️ Mirror Lake, and skated on the ⛸️ Olympic Speed Skating Rink.

Day two of our trip was reserved for Skiing and snowboarding at 🎿 Whiteface Mountain. Personally I loved this mountain, we had great conditions, there were clear skies for most of the mountain with amazing views and up top we were fully in clouds which was pretty cool!

Our third day we decided to hit a few of the attractions near by before heading home. We started off with breakfast at ☕️ Capisce Coffee & Espresso Bar, then took a turn going down the 🛷 Lake Placid Toboggan Chute, and finally visited 🌲 High Falls Gorge for a small hike before heading home.

Cozumel, Mexico 🇲🇽 August 2025

Back in August my family and I went to Cozumel for my mom and her friends to participate in a triathlon!! While we were there we stayed at Melia All Inclusive resort and visited as much of the island as we could including the Mayan Ruins, Punta Sur Eco Park, Chankanaab Beach Adventure Park, and Cenote El Aerolito 🌊

London Calling! 🇬🇧 Took a semi spontaneous trip to London with my sisters, Kathryn & Arianna, and their friend Jaiden, and packed as much as we could into this trip—sightseeing, markets, pubs, and even a day trip to Oxford!

Accommodation 🏨 We stayed in an Airbnb about a 10-minute walk from King’s Cross Station. It was the perfect spot for easy access to the Tube and only a short walk to Camden, where there are plenty of alternative bars and clubs.

Things to Do 📍
Day 1: Tower Bridge, London Bridge, St. Dunstan in the East Church Garden, Sky Garden (free tickets booked in advance), Leadenhall Market, Daunt Books, Tate Modern (free select exhibits), The Golden Hide.

Day 2: Platform 9 ¾, Neal’s Yard, SoHo/Covent Garden, Harry Potter Statue, Chinatown. My sisters saw Starlight Express, and I went on a London Pub Crawl—such a fun way to meet other travelers with great drink deals!

Day 3: Day trip to Oxford via train from Paddington Station to visit my friend Annalie

Day 4: Big Ben, Buckingham Palace, Westminster Abbey, St. James’s Park, Kensington Gardens, and Hyde Park (with lots of ducks 🦆).

Food 🍽️ London has no shortage of food halls and restaurants, but one thing to note—most kitchens close by 10 p.m., so don’t wait too late for dinner. Also my friend’s favorite thing about England is Tesco’s meal deals which are a great budget option for lunch!
- Borough Market: A must-visit for foodies, with lots of amazing options (though a bit pricey if you’re on a budget).
- Spudbros Express: TikTok-famous for their loaded potatoes. I thought it was a fun experience, though my sisters weren’t as impressed.

Nightlife 🍸 London has such a fun nightlife scene with something for everyone. The twins saw Starlight Express at Troubadour Wembley Park Theatre, while I joined a London Pub Crawl—such a fun way to meet fellow travelers and score great drink deals! Camden is also the place to be if you’re into alternative rock or punk bars. My absolute favorite spot was The Underworld, a rock club with the best atmosphere!

Nothing like a weekend trip to West Virginia, with a quick stop at an Eagles Super Bowl Parade, to celebrate Valentine’s Day! 🦅💚

New River Gorge National Park 🏞️
My second national park—and the newest in the U.S.! This place is packed with outdoor activities like hiking, camping, fishing, and rafting. Even though it rained the whole time, we hiked the Canyon Rim Overlook Boardwalk and Long Point Trail and were still rewarded with some absolutely stunning views. Bonus: we had the trails all to ourselves thanks to the weather!

West Virginia Things to Do 📌
- Explore the ghost town of Thurmond
- Wander through Lost World Caverns
- Hike any of the state’s endless trails (we did the Greenbrier River Trail)
- And if you’re nearby, don’t miss the world’s largest teapot 🫖

Accommodation 🚐
We traveled in Matt’s mom’s camper van, Unicorn! We loaded her up with a cooler, camping stove, and a few essentials to keep the trip easy and fun. We parked at free campsites both in and outside the national park—found most of them using the iOverlander app 🏕️

Rainy, rugged, and absolutely worth it.
