Like what’s going on here. Almost everything you can actually see is weeds, with a small exception of tomatoes that started indoors — at the same time as the ones in the back. (transplanted much later.)

I harvested one radish and that may be all I get from this plot — you can see the spindly radishes left in the ground. by @gabygrows

The garden has been depressing me and it has not been exciting to post. Plus I have Instagram blocked during the day which makes it hard.

The tomatoes were struggling then suddenly exploded. I now have a few small unripe tomatoes. With a warm September I should have a small harvest.

Everything else is small — I won't be getting any cucamelons, the cabbage plant's leaves have all been eaten, and two melon plants are still only about 8" tall.

I'm choosing to blame the soil I bought. For my mental health. by @gabygrows

Week 3?

Did I forget to take a photo of the whole bed out front? Yes. Do I regret it? Yes. Am I going to go outside and take another? No. I'm on antibiotics and trying to stay cool in the basement.

Everything is so small and the little that isn't is yellow or other weird colours. I didn't put compost/sea soil down over the bed and I suspect that's the trouble? I did put bone meal everywhere I planted. I could start using fertilizer ("blue water"), but it feels early?? I guess it's all an experiment this year. New climate, new bed. Compost seems really difficult to put in among the mulch.

The last photo is all the bellflower that's returning after I dug up so much of it 🥲 by @gabygrows

Week 2
Ok so EXTREMELY rude of Instagram to get rid of the font I was using for the date but whatever

The tiny seedlings are miscellaneous flowers (I hope?)
Big is beets
And then a mystery in a spot I labeled “arugula?” because I forgot what was there. Definitely NOT arugula. Maybe spinach?

Also my aunt came by and taught me that wood mulch is not really for veggie gardens and I should’ve used hay 🙂 next year! by @gabygrows

Ok so I did NOT take my babies in before the rain

And they got absolutely flooded

But my aunt brought me a pop up greenhouse so I put that up

And put them in there, along with a tomato plant and the one (of FOUR) Strawberry plant that's still alive in the hopes that helps??

I'll be very impressed and proud of anybody survives. And I promise I'll get them bigger pots. by @gabygrows

Week 1 - June 15 - front bed

1-2. Not too visually different but a couple sprouts (almost all brassicas)

3. Tiny row of babies! Arugula I think
4-5. Bigger brassicas! Beets?
6. Something that is certainly a weed but its baby leaves look like brassicas so I'm attached by @gabygrows

I was feeling very grouchy that nothing had come up yet in the front bed, but today spotted some little guys in rows! Not sure who they are but I love them all. by @gabygrows
