Welcome to the Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts 2024 Graduation Exhibition.

Questioning and responding drive creation. This exhibition features the vibrant curiosity and sincere responses of 1,787 undergraduates and 429 graduates to the art world.

Our students are questioners, capturing their thoughts as the future merges virtual with reality. They ponder whether the promise of goodness holds, whether freedom is an illusion in our digitally-driven world, and if genuine connections exist amidst pervasive unfamiliarity. Through the interplay of light and shadow, they tackle conflicts and transform queries into art, using technology as both a challenge and a tool, discovering new forms of creativity.

As responders, they navigate change through diverse artistic disciplines like painting, sculpture, multimedia art, design, and more. Their solid academic training and interdisciplinary approach yield surprising creations, focused on reality and social service. Amid evolving intelligent production, the academy’s emphasis on the “Bay Area Art Innovation System” showcases promising art-tech and industry-education integration outcomes in this exhibition.

“Reply, 2024!” reflects our tradition of realism and innovation. In times of technological and social change, “realism” embraces genuine experiences, while “innovation” fosters continual creation. This cycle of questioning and responding advances understanding and progress. We wish the Class of 2024 growth, innovation, and grounding, empowering themselves through art for societal good.

Finally, we thank all participants and supporters of this exhibition. We warmly invite you to visit and share your feedback.

Constructing Systems. Connecting the Future. Today, we marked a pivotal chapter in Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts' journey towards the future - the 2023 Scientific Research and Innovation Work Conference.

This gathering wasn't just about setting the direction for our research and innovation efforts for the upcoming year. It was a call to action for our faculty, students, and alumni to build upon the legacy of artistic excellence that GAFA is renowned for, and extend it into the realms of science and technology.

The intersection of art and science is where the future is crafted. It's where design meets data, creativity intertwines with coding, and traditional methods embrace the latest technological advancements.

Together, we aim to create a vibrant ecosystem where ideas thrive, and the possibilities are limitless. This is where our journey to the future begins. Onwards and upwards!
