While in Cremona, I had the opportunity—and the pleasure—of playing a stunning @gallagherguitarco Ragtime Special, as well as meeting David C. Mathis in person. Here’s how it happened: I was there looking at the instruments when I was approached by @call.me.sofffii—Sofia Virginia Raccio, a highly talented journalist and reporter—who invited me to try out some Gallagher guitars. I played a few different models, and when I got to the Ragtime Special—a beautiful auditorium-style guitar with a Sitka spruce top and mahogany back and sides—the magic happened. As I played, the sound caught the attention of CEO David, who began watching with interest. At one point, he sat down across from me, pulled out his smartphone and a specialized microphone, and started recording me. You’ll see the rest in the video that David will be posting on Gallagher Guitar’s official channels. In the meantime, you can read more about this guitar here and follow: https://gallagherguitar.com/ragtime-special/ by @gallagherguitarco

After playing the G-50 for six years, Doc decided he was ready for another guitar. Doc had learned how to play fiddle tunes on a Les Paul guitar, so Merle brought a Les Paul neck to the shop and asked if Gallagher could make a similarly sized neck for Doc’s new guitar.

There’s a story behind the new Gallagher Provenir series, and it’s a little more personal than a typical guitar announcement.

In a new post, Gallagher owner David Mathis shares what led to the Provenir, how years of experience have shaped his approach to building guitars, and why this new series represents an important chapter in Gallagher’s story.

There’s also a family connection behind the fleur-de-lis on the headstock, along with the meaning behind the name Provenir and the Certificate of Provenance that comes with every guitar.

Read the story behind the Provenir series on our website... (SEE NEWS).

We're just back from Cremona Music Fair and who did we meet from Nashville... David Mathis from Gallagher guitars. Couldn't help to get him in front of the camera to let him introduce his beautiful 'Bluegrass Bell'. Was great to meet him and thanks for the plug David ;) #gallagherguitars #loveyourinstrument #BovedaMusic taken in Cremona Musica by @gallagherguitarco
