A final view from Signé Villa, celebrating the 10th anniversary of @villabelleville.

For the occasion, I brought together several works from my practice alongside pieces by @celiaboulesteix, imagining a shared interior where our objects could coexist and engage in dialogue.

Among them was Đỏ, my latest armchair, made of solid beech, stained deep red, hand-carved, and inlaid with mother of pearl. It marks the opening of a new chapter in my work, introducing color and Vietnamese craft techniques into my visual language.

The blue moiré upholstery, created by @benaudcreations with the support of my neighbors at @carre_plein, echoes the natural grain of the wood and extends the dialogue between textile and material.

Established in 2022, with a mission to create a platform for young Vietnamese emerging artists and designers, Gallery Medium has always sought to foster dialogue, experimentation, and new perspectives within the creative community.

An intimate conversation with Madame Xuân Phượng

Gallery Medium is pleased to welcome VKNU to our space for a special afternoon with Madame Xuân Phượng, whose extraordinary life spans medicine, journalism, documentary filmmaking, literature, and art.

From joining the resistance at sixteen to becoming a doctor, war correspondent, filmmaker, author, and gallery founder, her journey reflects many chapters of Vietnam’s history, shaped by courage, creativity, and an enduring love for her country.

Led by My Holland, Founder of VKNU and CEO of EQuest Asia, the conversation offers an opportunity to hear her stories firsthand and reflect on the experiences that have shaped her life and work.

It’s simple, really. The woman’s body is the scenery, and the scenery reflects her undulating shape. There’s no theatrics or subliminal messaging—what you see is what you get. Yet perhaps you’ll allow yourself a moment of self-reflection; that when you look upon the woman’s body and the scenery in question, the way you’ve always perceived the world—your world—along with everything and everyone breathing and alive within it, will fall away. Like water escaping from your desperate longing. Like the tepid undertaking of disappointment and regret.

ARTIST

MAI TẠ (born 1997) is an artist, currently based in Sài Gòn, Việt Nam. Her main practice is painting, using both
gouache and oil paint. The paintings depict the intricacies of her inner world and the things that reside there. Inner wounds, secrets, memories... all sublimated into her own symbols.

Mai seeks to find truth in her feelings and honor them through art. To her, art is where she can safely eẽpress herself without guilt. To her, artistic expression is a form of freedom.

Currently represented by Pablo’s Birthday Gallery in New York and Ojiri Gallery in London. by @gallery.medium

Hãy làm quen với các nhà sáng lập của Chimon Studio!

Được thành lập bởi Lê Minh Hoàng và Phan Hạnh Nguyên - hai kiến trúc sư hành nghề mang tình yêu tự nhiên với điện ảnh, Chimnon Studio bước vào việc làm phim từ chính sự am hiểu sâu sắc về không gian, hình khối và ngôn ngữ kiến trúc. Trong thực hành sáng tạo của mình, Chimnon Studio luôn chọn vị trí của những người quan sát trung thực. Không áp đặt hay dàn dựng gượng ép, họ ưu tiên việc lắng nghe trọn vẹn bầu không khí vốn có của không gian giữa nhịp sống đô thị gấp gáp.

Đặc biệt, họ nhìn nhận kiến trúc không phải là những khối bê tông vô cảm, mà luôn lấy con người làm trung tâm - từ người thiết kế, người sử dụng cho đến cộng đồng xung quanh. Ở đây, kiến trúc là một cuộc trò chuyện sống động giữa con người, văn hóa và bối cảnh.

Tinh thần đó của Chimnon Studio sẽ được truyền tải trọn vẹn thông qua triển lãm 22 + 1, cộng hưởng với góc nhìn của các kiến trúc sư và nhà thiết kế, tạo nên một không gian Sống.Tạo độc nhất vô nhị tại VFCD 2026.

As a part of VFCD’s Track 03 - Living laboratories, 22+1 is a multimedia exhibition that explores creativity as a living and evolving practice through the architecture, design and urban stories of Ho Chi Minh City and southern Vietnam. Featuring photography, documentary films and architectural models, the exhibition presents the work and philosophies of 22 local and international architects and designers whose practices continue to shape the region’s changing cultural and urban landscape.

Aligned with the theme “Livina Festival” of Vietnam Festival of Creativity & Design 2026, the exhibition positions architecture as an ongoing dialogue between people, communities, culture and place.
Visitors are invited to discover the creative processes, collaborations and lived experiences that inform each project, revealing how design evolves through continuous exchange with its social and environmental context.
