GALLERY992 FAREWELL FESTIVAL: PART TWO

The tribe showed up and SHOWED OUT🎊

The house nights were filled up till the wee hours! Our daytime workshops were so deeply intentional and fulfilling. The live musicians were transcendental…✨

When @kebbiwilliams said to me, “ I just want to fill up the walls with as much magic and love as we can to it’s fullest before we leave..” the assignment was INNERSTOOD!

We got to work and called up all the right individuals who were eager to share in this same mission. As I’ve mentioned before, there was a lot of unexpected grief that manifested in different ways during this portal. It’s challenging to say goodbye without some painful projections at times.. it’s hard to let go of things that mean so so much to us especially when it feels out of our control.

Although to many, it may have felt like I came out the woodworks (I literally came out the jungle lol) and suddenly was here.. I also couldn’t explain how at HOME I felt every single moment I was in the gallery. This space called me in instantly to feel anchored in a way that I’ll always give deep gratitude for. I believe many artists who have traveled in and out of this space likely have felt that same magic. Whether we came to dance, hang some art, perform live or more… a sense of belonging instantly reigns upon you when you walk in. That was the vision @kebbiwilliams had and it’s incredible how it reigned true all the until the final day.

Music in The Park was INCREDIBLE x we even rolled all the tires flat during the parade and kept on rockin’✨

Thank you to all the people behind the scenes of the gallery who add their unique magic to the space for years and years. Your presence & devotion greatly impacted the walls and what it gave to all. To every elder, youth, musician, poet, painter, bartender, DJ, dancer and more… THANK YOU!

This place will forever reign deep in our hearts… @gallery992atl will only evolve into the next most magical expression and we’re all eager to see it.

GALLERY992 FAREWELL FESTIVAL: PART ONE

This entire 18 day production is going to be spread out over 2 parts, so please take your time to tune in and enjoy the bits & pieces that were able to be strung together here in blissful memory! Despite the length of these videos, it is nothing in comparison to the level of love captured in every moment.

I’d like to first start this share with deep reverence and gratitude to @kebbiwilliams , who not only founded this amazing @gallery992atl but saw something special in me. It’s true, you could’ve picked anyone in your world to support you with bringing this vision to life and spirit brought us together. The pure love of the cause and vision for the future was so strong in us both. What started out as a request for mere coordination support expanded into a full expansive expression of magic. I’ve never been the type to do anything halfway & when this vision was placed in my hands I knew I’d give it my biggest honor no matter what the return looked like — because it truly never was about that for me.

My biggest regret is not having discovered this gem years earlier, yet deeply grateful for the opportunities it brought me in its closing months. So many new friends, musical inspiration and skill progression in many ways. In this first clip, you’ll hear some special shares from @kebbiwilliams when he did his final performance in the Gallery. To learn the history and feel the intentions he built the space with is extremely special.

Daily workshops starting at 2pm and nightly events often going until 3-6am 🔥 when Kebbi brought this vision to me all he had was a singular piece of paper with 50+ names and a heart filled with passion. At first I thought, o m g you’re insane?? How will this work for 2+ weeks while you’re also away on tour most of the time? …. Anyone that knows me, knows I love a good challenge that stretches me in the best ways. So I jumped into this partnership with Kebbi filled with the same passion. I could empathize with the 9 years of deep love he was motivated by as it seeped into my own veins each day.

I LOVE US ❤️ AFROCON TRIBE ✨

We have thrown some pretty epic experiences over the last few weeks and I absolutely have to highlight our Final Friday event with the most epic lineup of performers and DJs in Atlanta! Closing weekend of @gallery992atl started off with a big bang 🔥🎊

Thank you SO very much for all your contributions and vibes in the space. I’ve got a knack for throwing badass parties and honestly, this one was one of my favorites EVER! It was hard to even capture all the parts of it into a 2min recap 😅 I did my best y’all, but just know it got wild and freeeeee✨

The magic of @gallery992atl has finally come to a close, yet will live on inside of us all✨ In it’s final moments, I was captured flowing in my essence by @toddwbarronphotography ❤️ Today, I want to share a few messages as we all mourn & prepare for the next phase of evolution 🙏🏿

1) Be kind.

It doesn’t take much to be kind and it goes a long long way. We don’t have to be afraid of others or move from a place of distrust within the unknown — just be kind to everyone you meet. I promise you, your light will protect you. Don’t worry about those who don’t want to hear you or see you shine baby, keep dreaming and shining because most importantly you must always be kind to yourself.

2) Trust!

The unfolding of the unknown is always going to feel scary and feel unstable… yet it’s a choice to simply surrender & choose to trust. Everything is always happening in our favor and if you truly believe that, watch miracles unfold before your eyes.

3) Celebrate 🎉

We are all such unique beings with special qualities. We are the living breathing ArtPeace that God has created. Celebrate your ability to grow, express, connect & evolve. It’s truly a gift to be alive and succeed in ALL the greatness we have accomplished.

Everything that goes around comes around. So give love and trust that you may not always receive the energy straight from the source you expected, but KNOW that it’s still coming to you in perfect timing.

As we’ve all been in deep reflection and gentle awareness of the grief portal.. may we remember to be gentle with ourselves. Admist the chaos there is immense beauty for us to relish in.

Endings are truly beginnings.

I look forward to the next few posts coming up highlighting even more of the beauty life weaved the last few weeks… stay tuned beloveds!

One Last Friday. One Final Night.

After 9 unforgettable years, the gallery closes its doors—but not without a weekend of proper send-off.

Join us this Friday for a farewell like no other: a eulogy ceremony of memories, open mic stories, a jam session, fire show and DJs spinning till the end.

Come celebrate the spirit, the community, and the countless moments that made this space home to so many in Atlanta.

It’s an honor for @afrocontribe to host this gathering and welcome everyone into a space to not only joyfully welcome what is to come next.. but also to anchor a portal for wholesome connection and remembrance for the magic that the walls have carried over the years!

Bring your own food to break bread, swap stories of the impact the gallery has had on you … followed by some good ol’ fashion jamming, live music and epic DJs!

We will dance the night away joyfully✨This is not just an ending, it’s also a special new beginning!
