The AI and Arts Live was an exceptional event that beautifully showcased the blend of artificial intelligence and art.

The artists’ works were thoughtfully displayed, and we got a glimpse into their creative journeys — how far they had come, the hurdles and obstacles they encountered, and the different ways they overcame them.

It was inspiring to see technology and creativity come together to create something unique and meaningful. More than just the finished pieces, hearing the stories and seeing the journey behind the work made the experience even more special.

A little photo dump from an inspiring day of art, creativity and AI. ✨

Before there was an exhibition, there was a journey. Before there were artworks, there were ideas🔥

AI x Arts Live isn’t just an exhibition that appeared out of nowhere.

It is a journey.

From the AI x Arts Open Call, where creative minds stepped forward, to the selection of resident artists. From the workshops during AI + Arts Week, where ideas, technology, and creativity collided, to this moment — the final showcase of their works and projects.

This is more than an exhibition of art.

It is a showcase of what happens when artists explore, experiment, and create with AI in ways that have rarely been seen before.

The journey has led us here.

AI x Arts Live is real. And it’s here.

Untangler: Worlds Reimagined

It started with a question: what are the unbuilt bridges that contribute to AI bias on African culture?

The research found the answer in the data, the need to question the models and the datasets they are trained on, but how do we keep the essence of our data in local languages without its meaning lost in translation?

Yoruba tonal diacritics are lost to bad encoding, archives never digitised, identities flattened by what AI was never taught. So fixes were built: ODU Keyboard, a community dataset, an offline Museum Companion, and The Griot — a voice for the archive.

None of this happened alone. Research support from @ramona.vangansbeke / Technical guidance from @alexandre.saunier and @kaosbeat.

Developed with @galleryofcodehq (Abuja) and @gluon_bxl (Brussels), under the S+T+ARTS Afropean Intelligence Residency.

Nominated for the @startseu Prize 2026 by Ars Electronica, it'll be exhibited in Abuja starting on 26th of June.

A special thank you to every individual and small groups that have contributed to this dream project. This is the credits!
