Flow city - 6) 손진경 Jinkyeong Son (b.1994) 손진경의 작업은 인간의 삶과 관계 속에서 형성되고 변화하는 존재의 모습에 주목한다. 우리는 혼자 완성되는 존재가 아니라 스쳐 간 수많은 사람과 경험을 통해 조금씩 만들어진다는 생각에서 작업을 이어간다. 따뜻한 손길과 짧은 온기, 이름 없이 머문 관계의 흔적은 사라지지 않고 기억 속에 축적되어 한 사람의 일부가 된다. 이를 통해 작가는 개인의 삶을 관계와 기억이 겹겹이 쌓여 이루어진 하나의 이야기로 바라본다. Jinkyeong Son‘s work focuses on how individuals are shaped and transformed through human life and relationships. Her practice is rooted in the belief that we are not formed in isolation, but gradually become who we are through the many people and experiences that pass through our lives. Warm gestures, brief moments of intimacy, and traces of unnamed relationships do not disappear, but accumulate in memory and become part of who we are. Flow city - 5) 박서혜 Seohye Park (b.1987) 박서혜는 식물의 잎을 단순한 재현의 대상이 아닌 고유한 생명성과 감각을 지닌 존재로 바라본다. 직접 기른 식물을 오랜 시간 관찰하며 발견한 패턴과 색채, 엽맥의 흐름은 화면 위에서 확대되고 중첩되며 낯선 풍경으로 확장된다. 서로 다른 잎의 형상은 반복적으로 연결되고 증식하며 개별적인 존재들이 하나의 생명 흐름 안에서 관계 맺는 모습을 드러낸다. 이를 통해 작가는 눈에 보이지 않는 생명의 역동과 존재들 사이의 연결 구조를 회화적으로 탐구한다. Seohye Park regards plant leaves not simply as objects of representation, but as living forms with their own vitality and sensory presence. Through long-term observation of plants she grows herself, she discovers patterns, colors, and the flow of veins, which are enlarged and layered on the canvas to form unfamiliar landscapes. The shapes of different leaves are repeatedly connected and multiplied, revealing how individual beings relate to one another within a shared flow of life. Flow city - 3) 김정빈 Jeongbean Kim (b. 2000) 김정빈은 보이지 않지만 분명히 존재하는 것들과 그것이 지나간 자리에 남는 흔적을 시각적으로 포착한다. 투명한 사물과 반사, 겹침 등의 요소를 통해 존재와 인식 사이의 간극을 드러내고 물질을 통과하며 생기는 색과 형태의 왜곡에 주목한다. 직접적으로 드러나지 않는 존재를 간접적인 방식으로 포착하여 ‘보이지 않는 것 역시 존재할 수 있는가’라는 질문을 이어간다. 이를 통해 대상을 바라보고 의미를 부여하는 우리의 방식 자체를 되묻게 한다. Jeongbean Kim visually captures things that are invisible yet undeniably present, as well as the traces they leave behind. Through transparent objects, reflections, and overlapping forms, she reveals the gap between existence and perception, while focusing on the distortions of color and form that occur as light and matter pass through one another. By approaching unseen presences indirectly, she continues to ask whether something invisible can still be said to exist. Flow city - 2) 권혜정 Hyejeong Kwon (b. 2002) 권혜정은 사람의 소리가 사라진 고요한 장면을 통해 감각과 기억의 관계를 탐구한다. 장지 위에 먹과 콩테 그리고 파스텔 등을 반복적으로 쌓고 지우며 시간과 감정의 층위를 축적하고 손으로 문지르고 번지게 하는 신체적 행위를 통해 기억의 흔적을 물질적으로 드러낸다. 이러한 작업을 통해 회화를 지나간 순간의 기록에 머무르지 않고 감각과 기억이 교차하며 끊임없이 새롭게 형성되는 과정으로 확장한다. Hyejeong Kwon explores the relationship between sensation and memory through quiet scenes devoid of human sound. On jangji, she repeatedly layers and erases ink, Conté, pastel, and other materials, accumulating traces of time and emotion. Through physical gestures such as rubbing and smudging by hand, she gives material form to fragments of memory. Flow city - 1) 강소희 Sohui Kang (b. 1999) 강소희는 잠 속 이미지와 현실의 소망을 연결하며 ‘꿈’의 의미를 탐구한다. 현실의 경험과 감정은 꿈의 형식으로 전환되어 화면에 나타나며, 그 안엔 일관된 희망의 메시지가 흐른다. 반복적으로 등장하는 어둡고 고요한 숲과 고사리는 내면의 안식처이자 확장되는 자아를 상징한다. 한지 위 수묵과 채도 높은 색의 중첩은 낯설면서도 안온한 심리적 풍경을 만들어낸다. Sohui Kang explores the meaning of dreams by connecting images from sleep with hopes rooted in reality. Experiences and emotions from everyday life are transformed into dreamlike forms on the canvas, carrying a consistent sense of hope throughout her work. The recurring dark, quiet forests and ferns symbolize both an inner refuge and an expanding sense of self. Cross city - 3) 민수연 Suyeon Min (b. 1989) 민수연은 빛과 거울, 반사의 효과를 통해 시간의 흐름 속에서 사라지는 것과 남겨지는 것의 관계를 바라본다. 화면 안에 겹쳐지는 빛과 반사된 이미지는 안과 밖, 실재와 투영의 경계를 흐리며 익숙한 공간을 낯선 풍경으로 확장한다. 특히 거울은 단순히 대상을 비추는 장치를 넘어 머무름과 흘러감을 동시에 담아내며 관람객의 시선과 공간을 작품 안으로 끌어들인다. 이를 통해 작가는 지나가는 순간과 그 뒤에 남겨진 흔적, 변화하는 것과 변하지 않는 것 사이의 감각을 회화적으로 풀어낸다. Suyeon Min explores the relationship between what disappears and what remains over time through light, mirrors, and reflection. Layers of light and reflected images blur the boundaries between inside and outside, reality and projection, transforming familiar spaces into unfamiliar landscapes. Mirrors in her work function not simply as devices that reflect objects, but as surfaces that hold both stillness and movement, drawing the viewer’s gaze and surrounding space into the work. Cross city - 6) 이사라 Sara Lee (b. 1979) 이사라의 화면에는 반짝이는 눈망울의 소녀와 호기심 많은 몬스터 그리고 몽글몽글한 곰돌이가 등장한다. 파스텔 톤의 색감과 명랑한 표정은 동심의 세계를 환기시키고 반복된 스크래치와 레이어링은 기억과 상처 그리고 치유의 흔적을 함께 남긴다. 작업은 희망과 사랑 그리고 유토피아적 서사를 품으며 단순한 캐릭터 묘사를 넘어선다. 이번 출품작은 사랑스럽고 개성적인 캐릭터를 담은 작은 소품들로 구성되어, 작은 화면 속 캐릭터들의 표정과 이야기를 일상 가까이에서 마주하는 즐거움을 더한다. Sara Lee’s paintings feature a sparkling-eyed girl, a curious monster, and a soft, cuddly bear. Their pastel colors and cheerful expressions evoke a childlike world, while repeated scratching and layering leave traces of memory, wounds, and healing. Her work carries narratives of hope, love, and utopian imagination, moving beyond simple character depiction. 💕🍷 III. Cross city - 5) 신동원 Dongwon Shin (b. 1972) 신동원은 컵과 접시, 주전자 등 익숙한 생활 사물을 얇은 도자 형태로 구현하고 이를 벽면 위에 회화처럼 배치한다. 기능을 잃은 일상의 오브제들은2차원의 평면성과 3차원의 입체감 사이를 자유롭게 넘나든다. 벽면에 부유하듯 놓인 사물들은 실제로는 고정되어 있지만 금방이라도 움직이거나 쏟아질 듯한 긴장감을 만들며 익숙한 공간의 질서를 낯설게 전환한다. 흙의 갈라짐과 휨, 유약의 흐름처럼 예측할 수 없는 물질의 변화까지 작업 안으로 끌어들이는 신동원의 작품은 공간 전체를 하나의 확장된 화면으로 완성한다. Dongwon Shin transforms familiar everyday objects, such as cups, plates, and teapots, into thin ceramic forms, arranging them on walls like paintings. Stripped of their original functions, these objects move freely between two-dimensional flatness and three-dimensional volume. Although fixed in place, the objects appear to float across the wall, creating a sense of tension as if they might shift or spill at any moment, transforming the familiar order of space into something unexpected. Embracing the unpredictable nature of materials, from the cracking and warping of clay to the flowing of glaze, Shin‘s works transform the entire space into an expanded pictorial surface. #파라다이스시티 taken in 파라다이스시티 by @gallthes
