This is the first piece of the bigger puzzle for games created from Africa and here’s why. by @gamrstudios

One year ago, Gamr Lab opened its doors.

We didn’t have everything figured out.

But we knew one thing for sure:
African game creators deserved a real place to grow.
365 days later…

We’ve seen ideas turn into games.
We’ve seen beginners become creators.
We’ve seen a community form — one builder at a time.

Creators shipped their first games, found their people,
and boldly started calling themselves game developers.

This isn’t just our story.

It’s about every single person who showed up, stayed consistent, and kept building — even when it got hard.

Happy 1st year anniversary, Gamr Lab. 🥳

Year 1 was the foundation.

What comes next will be even bigger.

Drop a 🎂 if you’ve been part of the journey. by @gamrstudios

Africa’s gaming industry is evolving—and we’re here to tell the stories behind it.

We attended Build Africa on Roblox Demo Day, where young creators showcased Afrocentric gaming experiences built for a global audience.

Beyond the demos, the event highlighted something bigger: a new generation of African developers, storytellers, and creators using gaming to shape how the world experiences Africa.

At Africa Tech Radio, we’re committed to spotlighting the people, ideas, and innovations driving Africa’s technology ecosystem—including the rapidly growing gaming industry.

This is only the beginning.

Streamlivr was out to support Gamr Africa at their #BuildAfricaonRoblox Demo day. I specifically love one of the game projects cos of its narrative around the history of Ancient Benin Kingdom. @gamrhq @roblox @gamrstudios @streamlivr taken in University of Lagos by @gamrstudios
