POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

TRAPPED🎬- We just wrapped on My first short film i produced and acted in for the first time as an independent filmmaker. I fell into the creative arts purely by luck and fate , slowly fading away at the lowest point in my life with filmmaking my escape and cure to solve what life could have been. I like tell stories through my work as social realism and emotional subjects the core and Trapped will show a glimpse of caught between the pressures of family, peers and life. Many thanks to all at @g.t.f_films who helped me with the whole process from pre right into now post production and to Ally Robertson for directing and coordinating crucial scenes and helping everyone feel at ease and making the process a smooth ride. @alexanderhendersondp as my DOP who i met in Cannes at a networking event which has now developed into a working relationship. @snatched.by.sianmakeup who set the look for my characters i wrote on paper to life in tremendous fashion. #filmmaking #scottishfilm #shortfilms #glasgow by @ganunga_official

TRAPPED | PRODUCTION UPDATE — TWO DAYS BACK TO BACK

It’s been an incredible couple of days on the production of TRAPPED, with two consecutive shooting days bringing some of the film’s most intense and emotional moments to life.

Filming Young Sean to him in his current life. Showing the path he chose rather than Els his childhood friend who represents hope and future despite the class divide in the city and between them.

@elijahmirza_1

@alexanderhendersondp

Shona is streetwise, resilient and familiar with the harsher realities of Glasgow life. Her character brings another perspective to Sean’s surroundings, reflecting the pressures and circumstances faced by those growing up with limited opportunities. Also with her daughter and grandson

Tazer shaped by a world of drugs, violence and street loyalty. Their friendship is built on years of shared experiences, but that loyalty can become dangerous when one person’s choices begin to dictate another’s future.

@ganunga_official

From filming inside Sean’s home to recreating street activities we so often hear about across Glasgow showing the real effects it brings. Our second day began at sunrise at Queen’s Park, where we captured the film’s emotional closing moments between Sean and his mother,

@snatched.by.sianmakeup on make up creating self harm replications.

Val is Sean’s mother, protective but far from perfect. Having experienced her own struggles, she understands the world her son is becoming trapped in. Her relationship with Sean explores family, responsibility and the difficulty of watching someone you love make choices you cannot control. portrayed by the amazing @kerry_lyn_hamilton_

#Filming the closing scenes at the pond was a complete contrast to the intensity of the street sequences. From the early morning light to the emotional weight of the performances, it was a fitting way to bring these two demanding production days together.

TRAPPED is a short film about friendship, family, loyalty and childhood innocence and the circumstances that shape us but also the choices we make within them.

A massive thank you to our wonderful cast and crew for their time, dedication and passion to this project a by @ganunga_official

So we began filming yesterday for TRAPPED🎬 Working with actors of different experiences brought its challenges but you know what we wrapped with plenty of coverage.

A massive learning experience already, particularly working with our younger cast and learning how differently you have to communicate, direct and allow performances to happen naturally.

We also shot our first scenes inside Els’s world, beginning to establish the contrast between her life and the one Sean is becoming trapped within.

Onto the next Day of Filming Where we will meet the other characters in the world of Trapped🤫🎬

Can’t think of a better way to finish off summer than in Ibiza with your best mates!! Apart from the storm absolutely smashing the island and the plane when it was trying to land (had to circle 4 times then sent to palma for a few hours) it was amazing from start to finish 😂😂 love it!!!
