I started this trilogy when Anathema just got released. I had recently read Nocticadia, and well, Keri Lake doesn’t do things by halves, so I was sure I was going to love it. And boy, did I love it; it was one of the best reads of that year. Then there was Eldritch—that book broke me. The amount of suffering Zevander went through… I’m about to cry just remembering it. This one is a slower book, with a lot of character development. And then, the grand finale, Vasmora: How do you say goodbye to characters that have accompanied you for three years? This is the perfect ending. It has so much heartbreak, while at the same time so much hard-won happiness. If you thought Eldritch was slow, Vasmora is the complete opposite. There is not one word wasted. This story grabs you at the beginning and spits you out at the end not knowing up from down. Thank you, Keri Lake, for a magnificent world

Empecé esta trilogía cuando Antema se publicó. Había terminado hace poco Nocticadia y, obviamente, Keri Lake no se va con chicas; estaba segura de que me iba a encantar. Y bucha que me gustó, lo amé, fue una de las mejores lecturas de ese año. Después llegó Oscura; ese libro me destruyó. La cantidad de sufrimiento por el que pasó Zevander…voy a llorar de solo acordarme. Este es un poco más lento, harto de contextualización. Y el gran final Vasmora: ¿Cómo les dices adiós a personajes que te acompañaron por tres años? Fue el final perfecto; hubo tanto dolor, pero al final vemos una felicidad duramente ganada. Si pensaste que Oscura fue lento, Vasmora es todo lo opuesto. No se pierde ninguna palabra; esta historia te agarra al principio y te escupe al final y quedas desorientado de tanta acción. Gracias, Keri Lake, por tan magnífico mundo. by @garbasread

This book was a huge amount of fun. Krista is impressive; this was a chunk of a book, and you’re not bored for a minute of it. The yearning and pining in Syrus’s POV got me giddy and giggling. Ashara is fun and clever and extremely resourceful. Their relationship is so refreshingly healthy. For a millennial like me, reading a fresh romantasy version of Indiana Jones appeals to a level of nostalgia I can’t describe. This whole story made me feel engaged and hopeful, and I just wanted to discover the next clue with my now dearest characters. I absolutely recommend this book, and since I started with book two, I will definitely be reading book one.

Este libro fue pura entretención. Krista es impresionante. Este libro es enorme y, sin embargo, no te aburres en ningún momento. Syrus y su nivel de amor me tenía riéndome sola de pura ternura. Ashara es súper inteligente y muy creativa. La relación entre ambos es extremadamente sana; no hay nada de mala comunicación, lo que escasea en el género. Para un milenial como yo, leer un libro de romantasy que es básicamente un Indiana Jones es lo más gratificante del mundo. Esta historia engancha; estás constantemente esperanzado con el próximo paso en la relación y demasiado metido esperando la próxima pista. Súper recomendado, y como empecé con el segundo, obviamente leeré el primero. by @garbasread

I listened to the audiobooks for these. This set of short stories is a fun and light read. All the narrators did a fantastic job. My faves were Hot for Slayer and Spicy Little Curses.

Escuché los audiolibros. Este set de historias cortas es una lectura ligera y entretenida. Todos los narradores (en inglés) hicieron un trabajo extraordinario. Mis favoritos fueron Híncame el Diente y la Maldición de Desearte.

Fruit of the Flesh by I.V. Ophelia

It was really interesting. I picked the audiobook for this one, and the narrators (Luna Rey and Teddy Hamilton) did a great job (the female narrator had a genuinely sexy male voice). I like I.V. Ophelia’s writing very much; the pacing of her books is seductive and immersive. The romance is very cat-and-mouse, and you can tell that something is rotten, but you’re in for a real surprise at the end.

Este libro es intrigante. Escuché el audiolibro en este caso; los narradores son espectaculares: Luna Rey y Teddy Hamilton. Quiero resaltar la voz masculina de Luna Rey…sexy a morir. Siempre me ha gustado cómo escribe I.V. Ophelia, el ritmo de los libros es seductor e inmersivo. El romance es muy tipo gato y el ratón, y desde un principio sabes que algo está raro y mal, pero definitivamente no te imaginas el nivel. by @garbasread

Flight of Souls by Jade Valent

This is such a heartwarming read.
Romance is the main purpose of this book; it’s low stakes but infinitely cute. Both MCs are adorable and treat each other with such respect and yearning. It’s a beautiful palate cleanser and a quick read. If you just want to read about a healthy relationship, this is your book.

Este libro es adorable. El romance es el objetivo principal. No existe un riesgo muy alto en la historia pero es infinitamente tierno. Ambos protagonistas son dulces y se tratan con muchísimo respeto y anhelo. Es un excelente libro de transición ya que es una lectura muy rápida. Si quieres leer sobre una relación sana, este es tu libro. by @garbasread
