Made an art test this week, challenged to design a “Shadow Acrobat”, a bit of a harlequin character, a secret agent of Victorian England, themed after “an ace in a deck of cards of the King”. The task asked me to use strong foreshortening and a wide lens. Tried a couple of different poses and decided on this one.

Loved the scene described by @brennanleemulligan in C4 of Critical Role. So surreal, dramatic, creepy and beautiful! Also heavily inspired by @petemohrbacher art and his recent tutorials. Really wanted to try this out!
Trying to tickle out my inner child that just had fun painting with 0 expectations, oblivious to AI, the industry and noise. Don’t know what “my thing” is, but it’s surely connected to what I love.

Here is a feisty fairy with broken wings and a humiliating temporary solution :)

Lately I have a wild mix of emotions. Part of me wants to share my thoughts and struggles if this is my “art diary”. But there is so much pressure to appear “professional” on social media, to “sell”, but I’m also so sick and tired of everything being so formulaic and fake.. especially on LinkedIn. Best people I follow and best companies show vulnerability, transparency and authenticity. So many people do even blogging by just vomiting their vanity out into the web - this makes me want to just vanish and not post anything at all. Especially with AI mudding the waters. But if I share I might as well drop some messy thoughts to reflect upon later.
I feel the pressure to be liked by all the companies I’d love to work for, but also to “do my own thing”. And its never "hey, try this! Do this so we can see the fit", its always "why aren't you already different?". I do feel that concept art is my pure passion and calling. But maybe there is something to find in art that is not for anything or anybody. So this is why today mb a bit more color, mb a bit more illustrative and less 3D, maybe I'll go into smth dark and creepy? Mb away from fantasy (but I’m somehow still very much nerding around DnD worldbuilding).

DnD has so much great lore. I recently fell in love with grungs, a dart frog inspired race with caste system based on their skin color. Their skin is poisonous with various magic effects

PERSONAL PROJECT: The Castle Of Aies |
A magocratic town separated into different classes with the city walls. Quick brainstorm was to combine The Witcher vibes with Dune vibes.. (yeah I know, lets keep it simple..).. and I’m still suffering from a heavy inspiration by @jgauthier_art Numenor works.. they just trigger smth in me I really want to able to do!
Thanks to @art_of_sathish for the amazing support. He helped me a lot in finding my comfort zone with sketching and design explorations, the mindset and organising different skills into a proper workflow. Sketching was also probably the most fun. I could go on forever, but these needed to be displayed in some proper shots.

my Zbrush/CC4 attempt to learn how to put characters into my scenes. I feel like there is a proper workflow to it, but for now it felt quite restrictive and technical. But, looks cool with all the Blender fun when it’s finally there.

Drow city Belas that connects the Underdark with the surface world and built to keep the buildings hidden from the sun.

Learned a ton with this one, mostly involving ZBrush ^^ thanks to @learnsquared
