STOP TAKING UP SPACE!
.
Over the years I’ve allowed plants that are not performing well or are lack luster to take up space in my garden and now is the time for them to kick the bucket. I rather have blank spots in my garden than plants that are keeping me from adding really cool stuff I find. by @garden.evolution

How’s your fall looking?

I’m in love 🥰

Floralberry Sangria Hybericum (st Johns wort) is truly amazing with the turquoise sheened leaves and the rich yellow flowers all season that make way for juicy red “berries”. These are perfect in any garden or even as a cut flower. Good drainage as it doesn’t love winter wet otherwise super easy to take care of and undemanding for a plant. @monroviaplants knocked it out of the park with this series and will be looking to add a few other varieties next year.

Easy plants, great cut flower, amazing foliage, great in cottage gardens, what more could ya ask for? by @garden.evolution

It’s fall, or so they say.
The weather has been up and down. Hot and muggy days, cooler with some rain that heats back up. Can it make up its mind? What I can say is I’m over the garden in a few different ways. I’m tired of planting, I did that to myself. I’m tired of editing and transplanting, but now is the time. I’m tired of thinking about two projects that have to get finished before it’s cold. I’m just tired yet I’m chugging along.
While helping Rob fix the grass I captured a few shots of things that looked good. Soon I’ll be cutting some stuff back to prevent seeds and more work in the spring, removing tired annuals, and taking out perennials I’m just sick of too. Oh and mulch. I need to finish my mulching. Then come the fallen leaves which we shred to use as mulch too 😩 I need a break.

Stunning!
.
The other day I had the pleasure of visiting my new friend, Tobi Ann’s garden. Over the years she’s crafted a stunning garden in autumnal colors. Rich reds, oranges, purples, and greens all placed in a Cottage style garden on a corner lot. Though a small suburban lot, she has made great use of interesting views and winding paths with creative details all of us can steal for our own gardens!
