“Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans” - Proverbs 16:3 On May 15th, 2026, I will march across the stage to receive my Bachelors of Science in Nursing from Winston-Salem State University. Primarily, I want to thank God for using me in the best ways imaginable and giving me countless opportunities to blossom. I don’t have the typical journey that many people have through college. I don’t have numerous accolades. I am not afraid to say that I have struggled immensely and did not even think this achievement was possible. BUT GOD DID! To my family, y’all have kept me grounded and level headed all throughout this journey. I am the last of 4 grandchildren to graduate college. I have been surrounded by success my whole life thanks to y’all. You guys have pushed me to shine bright and reach my fullest potential. Thank you, Ma-Ma for instilling such strong morals in this family. To Winston-Salem State University, I have enjoyed my years here. I’ve made unbreakable bonds. I am so proud to call myself a ram. Coming to this university has shaped me for success. As a child, I grew up going to WSSU homecomings and knew I wanted to attend this institution. There is nothing like the HBCU experience and I’ll be a ram till I die! CHEW TOBACCO. To the Chi Chi Beta Chapter of Chi Eta Phi Nursing Sorority Incorporated, I am so proud to have crossed over into turtleland! The unwavering support, mentorship, and dedication. It is an honor to have such a formidable sisterhood. I cannot wait to continue my service and leadership that Chi Eta Phi has instilled in me.
