Pairing green tea and chocolate is a masterful exercise in balance. Similar to wine, matching different types of green tea with specific chocolates can elevate your tasting experience to a new level. The combination contrasts the sweet, rich nature of chocolate with the earthy, astringent, or bitter notes of the tea, resulting in a balanced dessert. To top it off, combining green tea and cocoa creates a true superfood blend. Both of which are high in antioxidants (polyphenols), powerful plant antioxidants that combat free radicals, reduce inflammation, and support cardiovascular health…Cheers ☕️

Dragonwell (Longjing) tea gets its name from Longjing village in Zhejiang Province, the region where the tea is produced. Similar to other specialty ingredients, like champagne or parmesan, only teas grown in Zhejiang Province can be labelled as true Dragonwell teas. The area is known for its high rainfall and lower temperatures, which create unique growing conditions where this tea plant thrives. Made from the camellia sinensis var. sinensis varietal of the tea plant, which is typically smaller and more delicate, Dragonwell has a slightly lower caffeine content which makes this Chinese green tea a great morning or afternoon tea…Cheers ☕️

Oriental Beauty is no ordinary Oolong. What makes this tea stand a head taller than most oolongs is its notable aroma and taste. This brew has a sweet, fruity aroma that lingers in your nostrils far longer. Even better, with deep flavor and accompanying mouthfeel it has a richness that includes woodsy, earthy, complex fruit notes with a honey-like taste that’s bound to leave a sweet taste in your mouth.

At Garden Tea Lounge, we can’t wait to serve you…♥️

Oriental Beauty, also known as bug bitten oolong originated in Taiwan in the early 20th century. As the story goes, there was a tremendous amount of leafhoppers feasting on one farmer’s tea bushes and instead of forsaking the whole harvest, he decided to proceed with processing these tea leaves. The farmer treated people to this tea and was astonished by the feedback. Everyone was obsessed with the unusual sweetness this tea possessed! Thus, the first Oriental Beauty Oolong came into existence. Who would have thought that a small Leafhopper insect a quarter of an inch in size could have such a dramatic effect on tea leaves?
